New Lavabone Demo MP3s
The new LAVABONE demo, produced by Dave Dominguez (whose credits include Adema, Papa Roach and Staind), is now in circulation and three tracks are available for download at their site in the media section. After listening, you can help pick which song will be released as the first single as well.
Brazen Music Gets Runemagick
Los Angeles based Metal record label Brazen Music will release Swedish dark death metal band Runemagick's "Requiem of the Apocalypse" CD in North America. The CD was licensed through Aftermath Music in Norway, and the US release date will be November 11, 2002. This CD will contain a Bonus track "Death Magick" only available on the North American CD.

Helmet to Reform in 2003?
With no reason given for their speculation, Total Rock say that it seems highly likely that Helmet will reform in 2003. Right now, frontman Page Hamilton is trying to get a deal for his new band Gandhi, drummer John Stainer is with Tomahawk and guitarist Chris Treyner is with Bush.

New Fates Warning Rereleases
Metal Blade will re-issue two classic Fates Warning albums on the 23rd of September, 2002 in Europe!
Both CD´s feature four bonustracks each, liner notes by Boris Kaiser of Rock Hard magazine, exclusive old band photos, all lyrics and different art.
Night On Bröcken will be released for the first time ever on CD with the original cover artwork, along with The Spectre Within! Both front covers will have a new band logo. Both CD´s are remastered by Brad Vance at DNA Mastering. And the best thing is, both CD´s will be available on Mid-Price!

The running order for the Ozzfest 2002 Live CD has been finalized and a release date has been set for September 3rd through Columbia Records.

Disgorge Complete Video
The United States' version of Disgorged recently finished a video for the song "Consume the Forsaken," from their disc with the same name. The finished video will be available on their site in mid-August.
Konkhra Issues Update
Danish extreme metallers Konkhra have posted the following update via the group's official web site at www.konkhra.com:
"OK, we did mix the [new] record but we are going to run it by again. There are a couple of leads that turned out a little low, and we want to make sure that everything is just right. For My Pain Set First Single
For My Pain, the new Finnish "goth metal" supergroup featuring Tuomas Holopainen (Nightwish) on keyboards, Altti Veteläinen (Eternal Tears of Sorrow) on bass, Lauri Tuohimaa (Embraze) on guitar, Olli-Pekka Törrö (ex-Eternal Tears of Sorrow) on guitar, Juha Kylmänen (Reflection) on vocals, and Petri Sankala (Eternal Tears of Sorrow) on drums, have reportedly set "My Wound Is Deeper Than Yours" as the first single from their as-yet-untitled debut album, due in early 2003 through Spinefarm Records. The single itself will be released before the end of the year.
Incantation Forced to Cancel Gigs
Incantation were forced to cancel their appearances in Lima, Ohio on August 4th and St. Louis, Missouri on August 5th after their touring van broke down following the group's show in Buffalo, New York on August 3rd. Impaled, Decapitated, Vehemence, and Dead to Fall were expected to go ahead with both gigs, as scheduled.
Russian Fest Postponed Again
Russia's Long Live Rock 'n' Roll open-air festival, which was set to take place at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre in Moscow on August 23-24, has reportedly once again been postponed — this time to September 20-21, according to the official web site of Glenn Hughes, one of the projected performers at the gig. As a result, Hugehs will not be able to make the gig, seeing as he will be touring Europe with Hughes Turner Project at the same time. It is not presently clear if the other acts originally set to perform at the festival — a list which includes The Gathering, Primal Fear, Saxon, Candlemass, Doro, and Blaze — will all appear at the rescheduled event.

German thrashers Destruction will embark on their first-ever Australian tour during November. The dates are as follows:

Meshuggah Explain New Sound
Meshuggah guitarist Mårten Hagström recently spoke to MTV.com about the band's decision to create a "ballsier" sound with their latest effort, Nothing, in the stores today through Nuclear Blast Records.
"We started playing eight-string guitars (instead of the usual six). It allowed us to go lower sonically and attain bass sounds on guitars," the guitarist said. "That helped us create the atmosphere we were looking for. We wanted it to be a bit darker, a bit slower and more sinister." More...
