Akercocke Close to Completion on Choronzon
Akercocke are working on their new studio album. The album, Choronzon, will see the light of day early 2003. Here's an update from the band: "All is well with the brethren. We are close to the completion of our third album which is expected to have an early 2003 release. It contains some of the following songs: ‘Praise The Name Of Satan!’, ‘Becoming The Adversary’, ‘Leviathan’, ‘Bathykolpian Avatar’, ‘Scapegoat’, ‘Enraptured By Evil’, ‘The Valley Of The Crucified’ plus a couple of others. What can you expect? You can expect a raging holocaust of supreme evil. It’s faster, heavier, more disturbing and much fucking nastier. Keep an eye on www.akercocke.com where we will soon be releasing some unmixed samples from Choronzon."

However, WW is now having trouble securing distribution in the United States, so the project will be delayed even longer. Fortunately, if the situation doesn't get resolved, Hydra Head Records has committed to releasing the DVD in the U.S. in the Winter of 2002, so it should be out no later than December. In related news, Hydra Head has acquired the rights to the two original Discordance Axis CD's and will be releasing them during Summer of 2003, complete with new packaging and lyric inserts.
