Kingdom Come Complete New Album

Kingdom Come's Marco has issued the following band update,

“IT'S DONE! Hello girls, boys and inbetweens! After several months of writing, recording, screaming, throwing things, fighting, laughing, worrying and cruising, we finally came to an end. Now it's up to the BIG GUY and of course to ALL OF YOU, where the next chapter will take us to. The CD is called Independent. It was recorded and mixed at the IMPULS-Studio in Hamburg, Germany. We'd like to thank Jan & Manne from the IMPULS-Studio, who spent a lot of late hours dealing with my remote controlled brother Lenny! (Gotta check out the red carpet! Very nice!) Kingdom Come signed to a new label, based in Germany's capital city Berlin, by the name of UlfTone Music. The chief himself, Ulf Zick, is also taking care of all business related matters regarding Kingdom Come and/or Lenny Wolf. I decided not to bubble & bla about the new CD, simply because it does do the talking all by it’s fucking self! Yippeh! That's it for now. Greetings to all of you, as always write me for further questions! Marko.”

Lawsuit Against Ozzy Thrown Out

The following article appears in today's edition of The New York Times:

Here is a scene viewers won't see on the MTV show The Osbournes: Ozzy Osbourne handing over millions in royalties to his onetime bass player and drummer.

The bass player, Bob Daisley, and the drummer, Lee Kerslake, sued Mr. Osbourne in federal court in Los Angeles in 2000. They said he owed them about $20 million for writing the songs on two heavy-metal albums from his pre-reality-television, pre-household-name days.

Judge Christina A. Snyder dismissed the case last week, saying that the statute of limitations had long since expired. She also said that the two men had failed to explain why they believed they had been improperly credited on record labels. More...

Halford Explains Bang Your Head festival

In the September 2002 issue of Germany's Rock Hard magazine, Rob Halford commented on his reportedly "lackluster" June 29th appearance at the Bang Your Head festival in Balingen, Germany, where the group apparently played a 50-minute co-headlining set that included a "truly horrible" vocal performance from Rob and virtually no interaction between the band and the audience. As previously reported, the heavy CD — due worldwide on October 28th — will be typical Opeth with all its ingredients, including mellow parts, while the "mellow" CD — set for release in March 2003 — will contain more laid-back material.

Gorgoroth Recording New Songs

Norwegian black metallers Gorgoroth are reportedly working on the recordings of their as-yet-untitled new opus in Bergen.
A total of eight songs have been finished, with Infernus, King and Kvitrafn penning most of the material. However, frontman Ghaal, who you will recall was imprisoned for fighting, is still scheduled to be part of the recordings. He'll require permission from the prison authorities before doing so. Word is that Ghaal is looking for a December release, so that he and Gorgoroth can tour in support of the upcoming album
