P.O.D have been forced to cancel planned British and European dates, because frontman Sonny Sandoval is suffering from painful back problems right now.

What's NOT Williams' Cause of Death

Police have apparently ruled out the possibility that Drowning Pool frontman Dave Williams died on August 14 after choking on his own vomit. This has been rumoured in recent days. However, the authorities are still no nearer confirming the cause of death. Williams was found dead on the band’s tour bus in Manassas, Virginia.

Chimaira's High Point

Chimaira pair Mark Hunter (vocals) and Jim Lamarca (bass) have formed a side project called High Point. The band have just recorded a demo, which they hope will lead to a deal. Chimaira themselves are also demoing material for their next album.

Amon Amarth Studio Update

Anom Amarth's Olli and Johan S are in Berno Studio recording the guitars for the new album. The drums were recorded last week, and next week it's time for Ted and Johan H to do their part. The album is scheduled to be mixed between August 26th and 30th. In between recording and mixing the band will also make an appearance at the Summer Breeze festival on the 24th of August. The band is especially looking forward to playing this festival since they had to cancel last years appearance.

Quo Vadis Seeking Guitarist

With Arie Itman leaving Quo Vadis unexpectedly four weeks before the studio dates, the band has asked Daniel Mongrain of Martyr to fill in for Arie for the recording of the album, given Daniel's skill and the band's tight studio schedule. Daniel has agreed to perform a few solos and melodies for the album on a professional basis. The band will search for a permanent replacement for Arie after the new album has been completed. In other line-up news, the search for a singer is underway. The band have received applications from candidates living in both Canada and the US.

Dragon Green Welcome New Guitarist

Allentown, Pennsylvania Dragon Green have formally welcomed guitarist Jeff Hydro, formerly of Philadelphia hardcore outfit Turmoil, to the fold.

The band are currently performing live regionally with Hydro in support of their recently released Emissions from Green Sessions album for Infernal Racket Records. More on Dragon Green soon.

Sentenced & Dark Tranquillity Embark on US Tour

Finland's suicide rockers Sentenced will be embarking on a September tour beginning September 16th in San Francisco, California in support of their recent release, The Cold White Light. Joining them will be Gothenburg legends Dark Tranquillity supporting their exceptionally acclaimed album Damage Done. Both bands will be opening for Massachusetts' own Killswitch Engage and Swedish headliners In Flames. This will mark the first-ever North American tour for both Sentenced and Dark Tranquillity.
