Crucial Blast Artist Update
- RUNE just completed their tour with 12 TRIBES (Eulogy Records) The band is now planning a more extensive tour of the East Coast in the coming months.
- Japan's UNHOLY GRAVE just completed their first US East Coast tour. Their latest 7" on Crucial Blast, "Kill Em All For One", is still available, as are some of the limited colored vinyl for mailorder only!
- Cult underground illustrator Sean Hogan is currently finishing up the layout and artwork for the upcoming KATASTROFIALUE "Tuskatakuu 94-98" CD on Crucial Blast. This 36 song semi-discography features a ton of unreleased material from this brutal Finnish death-crustcore band. Expect this release out by Fall 2001.
- Crucial Blast has licensed the latest GROINCHURN full length, "WhoAmI", for a USA release. This US version is an enhanced CD-ROM version, which features a professionally shot music video from the last album from these South African grindcore extremists. Expect this to be released in Fall 2001/early Winter 2001.
- The DATACLAST / EARWIGS split CD is almost ready. Using absolutely no actual instruments, DATACLAST defies genres and classifications with their 21st century explorations into extreme grind. Seattle's EARWIGS share the disc, and deliver more of their tweaked out space electronics that they have been recognized for over the past decade. Planned release for Fall 2001/Winter 2001.
- Mastering has just been completed for the debut full length from SAMUS, entitled "Desangano". Extensive touring is planned following the release of this CD. Planned release for Winter 2001.
- ALL IS SUFFERING have just finished recording their tracks for the BLACK DOMINION 4-way split CD (also featuring new material from VULGAR PIGEONS, GROINCHURN, and DROGHEDA). CRUCIAL BLAST is also currently putting together a retrospective CD that will feature all of the band's demo recordings and their rare 7" released on Renaissance Records.

Ted Nugent Rocks Ford Employees
New York, NY – When Detroit rocker TED NUGENT learned that the Ford Motor Company was laying off several thousand Michigan employees, he wanted to soften the blow. NUGENT has offered the laid off employees complimentary tickets to his Detroit performance August 21st at the DTE Energy Music Theatre.
"The workin’ hard, playin’ hard Michiganiacs have assisted me immensely in this gravity defying career of mine — forever — and I really appreciate it. During hard times, we BloodBrothers gotta stick together" stated the Motor City Madman.

CD Sales Fall, Part Deux
Similar to last week's news about CD sales dropping, but possibly on a bit safer premise, there are a couple of new articles on C|Net and ZDNet stating that CD sales have not gone up in Napster's down-time (duh!).

- Tesla joins the list of widely recognized bands to sign on with Sanctuary records and the first release will be the double live CD 'Replugged Live'. It arrives in stores on September 11, 2001.
