Signings
Coal Chamber frontman Dez Fafara recently commented that he has signed 3 bands to his new record label, Sever Records. However, the only known artist signed to the label as of yet is Motograter, who reportedly recently tracked their debut effort for the label at Studio 154 in Santa Ynez, CA. It is rumored that the album may be released through Sever/Virgin, though nothing has been confirmed as of yet. In other news, Coal Chamber will be tracking a new version of their previously unavailable song "Anxiety", for their forthcoming new album "Dark Days", which is due out early next year through Roadrunner/Universal. Other tentative track titles for the effort, which the band will wrap up recording shortly, include:
- Beckon
- One Step
- Drove
- Dark Days
- Alienate Me

$5 Off @ CDNOW
There's a new promotion at CDNOW that you might have seen atop this site. From August 1 to August 13 they have $5 any order over $19.99. If you're like me, you wait until there's a good deal before ordering online. Otherwise, I just shop for most of my music in retail.
You can click here to go to CDNOW with the coupon. By the way, CDNOW coupons are cookie-based, so if you use Ebates or some other money-back program, you can still click the link to CDNOW and then navigate there from Ebates and the coupon will show up AND you'll get your Ebates discount.
If you know of other similar rebate programs (like Ebates) or good deal-finding websites for music, I'd be interested in hearing about them, as I'm putting together an article about smart shopping online. Email comments to deathbringer@metalunderground.com.
