Elitist Release

Elitist Records is a brand new collaboration between the original founder of Candlelight Records, Lee Barrett, the man solely responsible for the signing / discovery of bands such as Emperor, Opeth, Enslaved, Beyond Dawn, Solstice and many more, and Earache Records, home of some of the Metal scene's biggest household names.

"It's an exciting time for me" states Barrett. "I've got over the personal problems that were affecting my life when I ended up leaving Candlelight, and I've since carved myself a lucrative career in the computing industry. Being outside of the music industry re-ignited my passion for the music itself; I was no longer cynical about bands, and I actually started looking forward to new releases."

Skinlab

Skinlab have lined-up guitarist Glen Telford, a New Zealand bred guitarist formerly of Los Angeles' Wired Shut, to replace recently departed guitarist Scott Seargent. The band is currently recording their new album, The Revolting Room, with producer Steve Evetts (Sepultura, Hatebreed). In other news, they will have their new song "Come Get It" featured in the new movie "Rites Of Passage", a 100-minute documentary that includes Ultimate Fighting champion Royce Gracie.

Carnal Forge Shuffles Line-Up

Swedish thrash lords Carnal Forge has undergone a slight line-up change. Guitarist Johan Magnusson is out of the band causing bassist Petri Kuusisto to switch over to guitars while Lars Lindén (ex-Rosicrusian and Slapdash) will be filling in on bass duty (Lindén is also responsible for the band's website as well as illustrating the cover for their second album, Firedemon). Carnal Forge has finished recording their new album, Please…Die!, at Studio Underground.

Angra

Vocalist Edu Falaschi, drummer Aquiles Priester, and bassist Felipe Andreoli have joined founding members, guitarists and main songwriters Kiko Loureiro and Rafael Bittencourt to complete the new line-up of Angra. The band is currently going through a very fruitful songwriting period. There are several new tracks already completed, plus many others being finalized. They will be heading into the studio in June to record the effort, with sights set on a late October release.

Russia Does Metallica

The first Russian tribute to Metallica, titled "Moskvallica" (or "Mosquallica") is coming out! The expected release date is October 14, 2001. The album will have 14 tracks:
