Tribute To The Gods
In a recent MetalMeltdown.com interview, ICED EARTH's Jon Schaffer said the band will work on an 11 song covers album called Tribute To The Gods.

Metallica Is Hate Free
Metallica's website has been declared "a hate-free zone" in the wake of racist posts against Arab Americans that hit the site's message board. "No race, creed or class deserves to be 'blanket-targeted' for retaliation," a post from the webmaster reads. "Messages which intone hatred or racism are not welcome here."
Tony Hawk's Soundtrack
Drowning Pool, Papa Roach and Alien Ant Farm are among the bands who made the cut for Music From and Inspired by Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, a soundtrack companion to the skateboarder's upcoming video game. The 13-song enhanced disc will include interview footage with Hawk and more. The CD hits stores on Oct. 16.
Soulfly Part Three
Soulfly mainman Max Cavalera has just started demoing songs for the band's third album. And although it's not yet been confirmed, Max might well produce the record himself.
Anselmo's Side Projects
Pantera might be going through difficult times right now, after pulling out of the 'Tattoo The Planet Tour,' but Phil Anselmo is certainly keepng busy, with two of his black metal-oriented projects releasing records next month. Necrophagia issue the song 'Cannibal Holocaust', a prelude to next year's 'Harvest Ritual' album. Viking Crown will be putting out the 'Banished Rhythmic Hate' album. The latter are also to do the sound for the movie, 'Bloodfeast II Buffet Of Blood', the follow-up to the pioneering 1963 gore movie 'Bloodfeast'.
Sophomore Lock Up
International grindcore outfit Lock Up have already recorded the follow-up to Pleasures Pave Sewers with new vocalist Tomas Lindberg (The Crown/ex-At The Gates)

NIN Release Date
nine inch nails are tentatively planning to release their "Closure" home video on DVD on November 06th.
Dead Girl Download
Rob Zombie's new track "Dead Girl Superstar" has been posted online, you can check it in Real Audio format here and in Windows Media format here. The song comes from the groups forthcoming new effort "The Sinister Urge", due out in stores on November 13th through Geffen.
UBL/ArtistDirect Layoffs
Some of you might be familiar with ArtistDirect, who offer music downloads similar to MP3.com and more. Rumor has it 22 people were laid off from Artist Direct yesterday, while the COO and former CEO (now co-chariman) got raises that double their salaries from 250,000 to 500,000. More Drop Off Metallium Tour
Dimmu Borgir, Napalm Death and Witchery have pulled out of the Metallium tour presumably as a result of the recent terrorist attack on the US. As previously mentioned, Soilent Green also pulled out due to the firing of guitarist Ben Stout. Six Feet Under, Lamb Of God, God Forbid & Darkest Hour are still expected to tour.
