Movement
- Atrocity guitarist Tosso has parted ways with the band for "private reasons"
- White Skull has replaced female vocalist Federica De Boni (Sister Federica) with a male singer named Gus GabarrĂ² from Argentina.
- Impiety is back to it's original formation, as Demonomancer was expelled from the line-up earlier this year. The current lineup is Shyaithan (bass/necrovomitz), Xxxul (lead guitarz) and Fauzzt (holocaust).
- Trouble's Ron Holzner will be laying down the bass tracks for November's Doom's next CD. The band will enter Studio One in Racine, WI in October with Neil Kernon Neil Kernon (Nevermore, Queensryche, Dokken).
- Altar drummer Sjoerd Visch has left the band due to his education and the fact that Altar has a heavy tour schedule ahead of them. Sjoerd will be replaced by William Vliereman (InrI).
Diabolic Signing
The death metal act Diabolic has been picked up by Olympic Recordings.
Polka Anyone?
A 19 year old hard rock fan in Cambridge, OH was forced to listen to four hours of polka music as punishment. Alan Law was found guilty of disturbing the peace for driving around town listening to rock music at full blast. He was given the choice of either a $100 fine or the polka option - and went for the latter.
Tool, Manson Get High Award
Some of the top rock names around have picked up nominations in the second annual Doobie Awards for Concious Music, which seeks to celebrate those artist who have helped promote marijuana. To be held in September, the list of nominees include: Tool, Marilyn Manson, Weezer, Monster Magnet, and the Black Crows.
Fear Factory / Slipknot DVD's
- Fear Factory have set a December 18th release date through Roadrunner/Island/Def Jam for their forthcoming VHS/DVD home video, "Digital Connectivity".
- In other Roadrunner news, Slipknot's upcoming and as of yet untitled DVD is set for a December release, 36 Crazyfists upcoming debut "Bitterness The Star" is now eyeing a January release, while Anyone's impending self-titled debut and Coal Chamber's new effort "Dark Days" are both expected out in February.
Knot A God
Godsmack will be shooting a video for their new single "Bad Magick" in Portland, ME this coming Monday, September 10th. In other news, band frontman Sully Erna recently spoke out on his feelings about Slipknot during an interview with 100.3 WHEB, here's what he had to say:
"I cant stand Slipknot. I'm sorry I just hate them. The jumpsuits are pointless and the masks are gay. I cant stand the speed metal, thrash metal crap they play. I just don’t like them at all."
Kittie First Download Off New CD
Canada’s KITTIE have made available for download the first single off their upcoming Oracle CD, entitled “What I Always Wanted”, from this location. Oracle is due to be issued through Artemis Records on October 30th.

Props To Mudvayne
I just want to comment on Mudvayne's winning the MTV 2 Award. Considering that they were up against all genres of music, I think it shows that The Underground is out there and people are hearing it.
