Man's Ruined
Man's Ruin, the cult American label started by artist Frank Kozik in 1995, has closed down. In its history, the company released records by such bands as Kyuss, Queens Of The Stone Age, Orange Goblin and Entombed.
Emperor Quits
Legendary Norwegian black metallers Emperor will release the album 'Prometheus: The Discipline Of Fire And Demise' on October 8, which will definitely be the last ever record from the band. Vocalist Ihsahn has confirmed to TotalRock that the band have no intentions of ever working together again, either in a studio or live situation.
New Nuclear Blast Live CD
Nuclear Blast will be releasing another live CD called Live In Eindhoven (recorded at the Dynamo '98 show), which was the first live appearance of the Sound Of Perseverance line-up. The CD will only be available through Nuclear Blast mail order. The CD will sell for $7, and $2.50 of each CD will go directly to the Chuck Schuldiner Medical Fund. There will also be a DVD for $12 of the same show. Both the CD and DVD will only be available in slip-sleeves (no jewel cases) and will be released on October 29.
Flotsam Vocalist 'Jetissoned'
Flotsam and Jetsam have parted ways with singer Eric A.K. prior to their forthcoming tour in support of My God. BW&BK sources have revealed that AK's replacement is James Rivera (Destiny's End/Helstar).

Slayer Chat
Slayer will appear at getmusic.com to talk about upcoming album God Hates Us All on September 4. For more info,visit http://www.getmusic.com/calendar/audiochats/slayer/index.html. The album will be released September 11.
Steel Planet

Alice Honored
Alice Cooper will recieve the living legend award from the Internatonal Horror Guild on Saturday, September 1. He's the first musician ever to recieve this accolade, which is given to people who have significantly enhanced the genre. This comes as Alice prepares to release new album 'Dragontown', and also has announced plans for a major US tour. This kicks off in Las Vegas on September 29 and is due to run at least til November 9.
Six Feet Under's C.D. Debut
SIX FEET UNDER’s True Carnage CD debuted at #40 on the German Media Control chart, #18 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and #17 on Denmark's National Alternative Chart.

The track "H.F.F.K", which appears on BIOHAZARD’s upcoming Uncivilization opus and which features PANTERA’s Phil Anselmo on backing vocals, can be downloaded in MP3 form from this location.

Coal Chamber Update
COAL CHAMBER will complete all the recordings for their upcoming third full-length release, entitled Dark Days, in the middle of next week, according to the group’s official web site. Mixing sessions for the effort are scheduled to take place during September for an early 2002 release through Roadrunner Records.
Depswa To Sign On Maggots Label
California’s DEPSWA are rumored to be in the process of signing a deal with SLIPKNOT’s record label imprint Maggot Records (via London/Sire). According to reports, SLIPKNOT vocalist Corey Taylor and percussionist Shawn Crahan will act as executive producers for the project, while Taylor himself is expected to make an appearance on the group’s debut album, which is due out sometime in 2002.
Slipknot To Top Billboard
According to early reports from national retail accounts, SLIPKNOT’s Iowa opus will have shifted between 350,000 and 400,000 copies during its first week of release, virtually ensuring it the #1 slot on the Billboard Pop Album chart when the final numbers are released in the middle of next week
Godsmack / Scorpion King
Godsmack plan to enter the studio soon to record a track for the upcoming 3rd installment in "The Mummy" series, "The Scorpion King". The song is expected to show up on the soundtrack for the movie, which is due in stores in February.
