Iced Earth Tour
A hoped-for slot on the Judas Priest/Anthrax tour didn't materialize, so Iced Earth will launch a headlining tour in Europe on September 7 in The Netherlands. A U.S. run will likely begin in late November in support of Horror Show. Yey Another Movement
Death metal stalwarts Incantation have confirmed bassist
- Rob Yench is out of the band. No reason was given for Yench's departure.
- Bassist Joe Lombard has recorded all bass guitars on Incantation's upcoming, as-yet-untitled full-length as well as toured in Europe with the band. Incantation has made it known that Lombard is only a stand-by replacement for Yench and they're currently looking for a permanent member.
- In similar news, Incantation has finished tracking their Necropolis Records debut and will return to Mars Recording Compound with Bill Korecky to finish the vocals and final mix by summer's end.

Australia's Alchemist have signed a three album deal with Relapse Records for the world, except in Australia where the band will remain on Chatterbox Records.

'Dig' This
Mudvayne and American Head Charge have been tapped to appear on this fall's Pledge of Allegiance tour. The jaunt, which kicks off Oct. 1 in Las Vegas, features co-headliners System of a Down and Slipknot. Additional bands who may join the lineup include Rammstein, No One and Sw1tched.
Ozzy / Zombie
The Godfather of Metal, Ozzy Osbourne, was just recently in the studio on Thursday, August 2nd, recording guest vocals for the song "Iron Head". This song is set to appear on the new, still yet to be titled, Rob Zombie record which is planned to hit stores around Halloween 2001.

TRAPT have parted ways with drummer Dave and have currently replaced him with Patient 956 of X-Cell Factor. The group have also made the decision not to sign to Atlantic Records and will be meeting with other interested labels in the upcoming weeks. Metallennium '01
GOD FORBID have joined the line-up of artists performing as part of Metallennium '01, a US tour package that will also include SIX FEET UNDER, DIMMU BORGIR, NAPALM DEATH, WITCHERY, LAMB OF GOD, and MALEVOLENT CREATION. One additional act will reportedly be added in the coming days. In addition to the artist performances, two video screenings have also been added to the festival, which will allegedly begin around September 20th. A screening of clips from Jackass star Bam Margera's CKY3 and CKY2K will also be featured on the tour. Also included will be the premiere of the Bad Luck 13 Riot Extravaganza Documentary, which is regarded as the most shocking depiction of the underground metal scene. The official tour dates for Metallennium are coming soon.

- Vital Remains have signed a new deal with Olympic Records. The band is currently finishing up the writing for their next studio effort, which they are planning on recording sometime in the fall with an as-yet-undetermined producer for release in early 2002.
Diesel Machine Shows Update
Diesel Machine will be playing a FREE show at the musician's Institute, 1655 McCadden, Hollywood CA on Tuesday, August 7. Showtime is 9pm. Also note that the band will NOT be appearing at this year's Milwaukee Metalfest. Diesel Machine are erroneously listed in the Friday, August 10 7:40pm time slot on the official Metalfest website www.metalfest.com. Closer to home, they will be headlining at the Whisky A Go-Go, 8901 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood CA on Monday, September 10. Showtime is 10pm.
