Artist Formerly Known as Drowningman Needs Vocals
After parting ways with vocalist Simon Brody, the remaining members of Drowningman are now looking for a frontman for their new band, which should have an official name sometime next week. Borrowing a technique employed by Dillinger Escape Plan last year, the group has posted three tracks for serious vocal candidates to add their own vocals to. In addition to a track from "Still Loves You," you'll also get the opportunity to showcase your stuff on two new tracks the band has written. They would like all submissions mailed out by August 1st, so get your ass moving and go here.
7 Angels 7 Plagues Find New Vocalist
After a brief, but intensive search, 7 Angels 7 Plagues has now found a new vocalist. The new guy is Jesse Zaraska, formerly of Edmonton hardcore band Compromise (you may recall that two Compromise members were killed in a horrific van accident last month). Zaraska is currently getting up to speed with the band's material, both old and new. They expect that he'll be ready in time for Furnace Fest. The band would like to thank everyone who tried out for the position. In related news, 7a7p is planning a tour that will start in Canada and possibly hit the West Coast and Texas, just in time for the Terror Fest. They are booking the tour right now, so if you can help, email them here. Additionally, their planned split with Liar should be available in September.
Aeternus Sign with Nocturnal Art Productions
Aeternus have signed to Nocturnal Art Productions. They are currently working on pre-production for the next full-length album, and plan to enter Grieghallen Studios in the autumn with the legendary Pytten as producer.

Nevermore Puts Blame on Century Media
Nevermore frontman Warrel Dane posted the following at the band’s website, www.nevermore.tv, regarding the cancellation of their Warped Tour appearances: “We regretfully have to cancel the Warped dates due to the fact that Century Media will not give us the tour support to do the tour. Our A&R at CM was VERY helpul, but eventually higher ups decided to play power games that we feel are not appropriate treatment for a band that they expect to resign to their label. All this after they got us on this tour and already have done a lot of promotion for it. We would have to pay for this tour from our own pockets at this point and unfortunately this will not work because of our financial situation. For any Nevermore fans that had planned to attend please know that the band did all we could do to avoid this cancellation.”
In Flames Update
Although the Swedes are on the verge of a North American tour, in support of the forthcoming Reroute To Remain, there's still lots of other happenings. It's been almost a year since their Wacken appearance was recorded, for a DVD. Many of those filmed that same weekend are already on the shelves. "It's still under production, as far as I know," claims a somewhat bewildered Bjorn Gelotte. "I didn't hear anything about it for a long time. We got to see a rough mix of it. I know some of the suits were down (in German) trying to mix it. As far as I know it, it's still scheduled. We didn't have the time or work hard on the DVD ourselves, as there were a lot of other projects, recording, planning the tours and video (for 'Cloud Connected'). It hasn't been a priority for us."
In Flames remains a priority for everyone involved, although the various members all have outside interests, as the guitarist/songwriter explains: More...

Anthrax Set Backs
Anthrax's recently-completed We've Come For You All CD will likely be issued in the US via Beyond Records following a breakdown in negotiations between the latter and Sanctuary Records over a buy-out of the band's contract, informed sources have told Blabbermouth.net. No official word has yet come down on the matter, but it is believed that Beyond Records was in the process of selling their entire catalog to Sanctuary, an arrangement that is said to have fallen through once Beyond had gotten their operation up and running again.
Anthrax, who are signed directly to Beyond, were to be included in failed deal, and are said to be less than pleased with the company's decision to pull the plug on the negotiations so close to the album's projected release date. As a result of this most recent setback, Nuclear Blast Records have announced that the European release date of We've Come For You All has been pushed back to early 2003. A US release through Beyond is now expected around the same time.
Iron Fire Acquire Guitarist
Danish power metallers Iron Fire have announced the addition of ex-Corpus Mortale guitarist Soren Jensen to the group's line-up.
As previously reported, Iron Fire are looking for a new bass player following the departure of Jakob Lykkebo earlier in the year. For more information, send an e-mail to: steve@ironfire.com.
The group, who issued two full-length albums through the Sanctuary/Noise label, recently completed work on an album-length CD/demo, which they're using to procure a new record deal.
