Kovenant Studio Update

The Kovenant are preparing their new studio album, titled SETI, and Lex is updating us: "By the time you all read this, we will already be in Woodhouse Studios, recording our new album. You can follow the process via the web cameras that have been put up throughout the studio. So click in on: www.woodhouse.de. On the new album we have been fortunate enough to be accompanied by a string-quartet and a few sopranos. The style of the album is, as always, hard to describe, since the overall sound picture changes a lot after the album is done. One could categorize it as cybertrash/electro-rock/metal. I guess you'll just have to wait for a little while to find out!"

Lopakka Discusses Song Titles

Sentenced guitarist Sami Lopakka discusses the two Finnish titles on The Cold White Light, “‘Konevitsan Kirkonkellot’ means the church bells of Konevitsan. Konevitsan is a historical place in eastern Finland. And this song is actually a traditional Finnish composition. We've just made a really heavy and gloomy version of it, but we still wanted to have the original title there, because
it was kind of logical. The other one
, ‘Aika Multaa Muistot’, means something like 'time buries your memories’. When time passes by, you forget about the bad things and remember only the good things. But in this song, we turn it upside-down and it's more that you only remember the bad things that happen to you and you forget about the good ones." Rebreather Sign to Infernal Racket

Infernal Racket Records proudly announces the signing of Youngstown, Ohio's Rebreather. During the last three years this unassuming quartet has emerged as one of the most talked about talents in the heavy rock underground. Rebreather's distinctive blend of feedback drenched guitar and uncompromising rhythmic attack are enough to satisfy the most jaded of heavy music fans, while their penchant for melody and song structure reach across the great divide that separates the underground from the masses. Stylistically these Buckeye bonghuggers forge a union of sweeping hypnotic doom and catchy sludgerock hooks. With their roots in the stoner rock culture, an ear for the Am-Rep days of noise-metal and songwriting skills by the truckload; Rebreather writes a new chapter in the big book of Rock.
