Murderdolls Lose Guitarist
Murderdolls will not have the services of guitarist Tripp Eisen for their upcoming series of US shows. The Static-X man is unable to make the tour, so he’ll temporarily be replaced by Acey Slade of Dope. The band’s debut album, ‘Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls’, is to be released by Roadrunner on August 26 (UK street date).

Lacrimosa Have Returned to the Studio
Half a year after ending their European and America tour, Lacrimosa have returned to studio to work on their eighth studio album. A first single off it can be expected this autumn. A bout the content and the musical development of their new work can be speculated a lot, but it's for sure that the new single will be further on released as an independent production through Hall Of Sermon.

Asherah Loses Drummer, Needs Replacement
Buffalo, NY metalcore band Asherah has lost their drummer following a mini-tour that took place in East this past week. As such, the band is now looking for a replacement. They have a new album coming out in September on SeventhDagger Records, a subdivision of Tribunal Records. Interested candidates must be able to tour, and willing to relocate. Updates from Matt Sinner
Sinner reported on their website that they will finish mixing their new album, There Will Be Execution, after Wacken 2002. Matt Sinner added that “There will be riffs, power, drive & groove, endless enthusiasm, a lot of energy and there will be execution! We promise the best guitar riffs, Sinner has to offer in their long career, excellent worldclass drumming by Fritz (Randow) and outstanding lead guitars, courtesy of Tom (Naumann) and Henny (Wolter)." Candlemass Announce Helsinki Date
The reunited classic line-up of Candlemass—vocalist Messiah Marcolin, bassist/founder Leif Edling, guitarist Mats Björkman, lead guitarist Lars Johansson and drummer Jan Lindh—are scheduled to perform at the Tavastia club in Helsinki, Finland on August 28th. Also set to appear at the gig are Lost in Tears and Godsplague.
Disharmonic Orchestra Reveal Details
Reunited Austrian death metal veterans Disharmonic Orchestra have announced the details of their comeback release, entitled Ahead, due on September 9th through Nuclear Blast Records.
Produced by Herwig Zamernik and LordDeisen at Fuzzroom studios in Klagenfurt, Austria, Ahead features the line-up of Patrick Klopf (guitars, vocals), Martin Messner (drums), and Zamernik (bass, vocals) and contains the following track listing: More...
Internal Bleeding Replace Guitarist
Long Island death metallers Internal Bleeding have replaced longtime guitarist Guy Marchais with Frank Buffalino. "Frank's talent and dedication is welcome in the band and he has already contributed to the writing of [the upcoming album Hatefuel," reads the group's official statement on the line-up change.
As previously reported, Internal Bleeding will begin recording Hatefuel in late summer/early fall at Sabella studios for an early 2003 release through Olympic Records.
Lockup to Release Live Album
Lockup, featuring Naplam Death bassist Shane Embury, Napalm Death guitarist Jesse Pintado, former At the Gates/The Crown frontman Tomas Lindberg, and Dimmu Borgir drummer Nick Barker, have recorded a live album during their Japanese tour in late June and are scheduled to release it in late 2002/early 2003 along with several new recordings, including a couple of as-yet-undisclosed covers. More information will be made available shortly.
Former Angelcorse frontman Joins Revenge
Former Angelcorpse bassist/vocalist Pete Helmkamp has joined Canada's Revenge, the band led by former Conqueror drummer J. Read. A new album is due to be released through Osmose Productions sometime in November.
Aeternus Explain Cancellation
Norway's Aeternus issued an official statement explaining the cancellation of their appearance at the Party San Open festival, which is scheduled to take place in Bad Berka, Germany on August 8-10.
"Well, Aeternus has been cancelled from the Party-San Festival," frontman Ares wrote. "I am sorry, but it's a damn fact. The reason is basically misunderstandings and impatience from one of the booking guys over there. We were ready and I needed 24 hours of time to get some shit confirmed, but he cancelled anyways. So there we have it. Again, on behalf of Aeternus, I am sorry about this. I know a lot of people were waiting for this to go down and you were all ready for some True Metal among all that crap out there! Well, that's life. We are preparing our new songs for studio these days. October is the month for recordings and so forth so await more news about this later on…"
Bloodbath's Carnage
Swedish death metal supergroup Bloodbath, featuring Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth) - guitars/vocals, Anders Nystrom (Katatonia) - guitars, Jonas Renske (Katatonia) - bass and Dan Swano (Nightingale, Edge Of Sanity, Star One) - drums, have officially agreed for Century Media to release their upcoming debut full-length, Resurrection Through Carnage.
At this point, not much is known about Resurrection Through Carnage, except that it will still be “a tribute to the old-school death metal that reigned in the late ‘80s and onward" and that artist Travis Smith will be responsible for the cover art.
