Blackmore's Night to Release Live Disc, DVD
Blackmores's Night will release a live album and DVD in October. The shows at the Wartburg will be recorded for a DVD, which will also be the first DVD worldwide recorded on the ultra new DTS 96/24 sound system. This sound system (96 Khz and 24 Bit) is almost twice superior to the conventional / traditional Dolby 5.1 standard (48 Khz und 16 Bit).
Heaven's Cry Power Addiction
Canada's Heaven's Cry have completed the work on their new album. Entitled Primal Power Addiction, the disc is slated to see the light of day in Europe in September and October in North America.
Simon Brody Forms New Band
Following his recent split with Drowningman, vocalist Simon Brody has promptly formed a new band. The group will include original Drowningman drummer Todd Tomlinson in addition to Pete Martin, formerly of Lifetime. The band will be based in San Francisco and Brody will be heading out there in late-August. Musically, their focus will be less metal/hardcore than Drowningman, with strains of heavy rock and noise. Locked in A Vacancy and Emmaneul 7 Start Tour
Locked In A Vacancy and Emmanuel 7 will be hitting the road together for a month-long U.S. tour, which kicks off tonight. LIAV will be out supporting their new EP on Purity Records entitled Ethos, while Emmanuel 7 will be promoting their debut album for Ides Of March. Here's the schedule:

My Darkest Hate to Cover Exodus
German death metallers My Darkest Hate are at House of Music Studios in Winterbach, Germany recording their second full-length CD, entitled To Whom It May Concern, for an October 28th release through Massacre Records. The follow-up to 2001's Massive Brutality (which was released on Vile Records, a division of guitarist Jörg M. Knittel's Iron Glory label) will reportedly contain 10 tracks, including a cover of Exodus' "Brain Dead".
Nuclear Assault Finish Touch Up Work
Nuclear Assault frontman John Connelly spent time this past weekend at Screaming Ferret Studios in southern New Hampshire completing "clean-up" work for the group's upcoming live reunion release, due later in the year through an as-yet-undisclosed label. While at the studio, Connelly also laid down lead vocals for the track "Smoke Stack", which will appear on the upcoming Candy Striper Death Orgy album, slated for release later this year through Screaming Ferret Wreckords. John also tracked lead guitars on the CSDO song "Holicostic", which will be included on the same album.
The reunited Nuclear Assault are scheduled to perform at Wacken Open Air Festival in Wacken, Germany on August 3rd.

As previously reported, Internal Bleeding will begin recording their long-awaited new album, entitled Hatefuel, in late summer/early fall at Sabella studios for an early 2003 release through Olympic Records.
Disinter to Enter Studio in October
Disinter are due to enter Studio One in Racine, Wisconsin in October with producer Chris Djurcic (i.e. Novembers Doom, Origin, Disgorge, Gorgasm) to record their third full-length release, tentatively entitled Designed By The Devil, Powered By The Dead, for a winter release through Morbid Records. Among Thieves to Lay Down Demo Tracks
New York's Among Thieves, featuring former Life of Agony bassist Alan Robert and ex-Agnostic Front drummer Will Shepler, will enter Water Music studio in Hoboken, New Jersey during September to record a three-song demo with legendary producer Michael Barbiero (i.e. Metallica, Guns 'n Roses, Blues, Life of Agony, LostProphets). Symphorce Sign with Metal Blade
German power metallers Symphorce, featuring members of Brainstorm, has recently signed a four-album deal with Metal Blade Records.
The band's third album, phorcefulAhead, will be produced at House of Music Studios in Winterbach, Germany on July 27, 2002 with producer Achim Köhler (Primal Fear, Brainstorm).
Here's what vocalist and founding member Vocalist and band founder Andy B. Franck had to say about the deal: "now, we're proud to say, that finally we found the right partner at the right time! So we´re proud to be back soon in your home stereo!"
Ephel Duath To Record Shortly
Italian avant garde metallers Ephel Duath have revealed the tracklisting for their upcoming Elitist Records full-length, The Painter's Palette.
The band has a new, complete line-up for the album, and expect a lengthy list of "established musicians" from the progressive metal world to appear on the effort, which is to be recorded shortly. A concept album, each song is said "to evoke a particular colour. You, the listener, are the painter and the songs are to be used to complete the painting in your imagination."
