Drowningman Calls It Quits, New Band Formed
Those of you who were at Monsterfest this past weekend and were surprised to find that event organizer Simon Brody and his band Drowningman never made it to the stage now know why as Drowningman has broken up. Yesterday evening we were sent this statement from Andrew of Drowningman. We delayed posting it in order to verify its authenticity (you wouldn't believe some of the stuff we get), which we have now done, so here goes:
Unfortunately, after almost 7 years we have decided to part ways with our vocalist Simon Brody. Our working relationship with Simon deteriorated greatly in the past few weeks and we decided with haste, but with great relief and assurance, that we have made the right decision to separate. Our two paths were quickly dividing and the motives not anywhere near the same in the sense of the goals of the band. We wish Simon only the best of luck in the future and may he find happiness in his future endeavors. The remaining four members will be forming a new band under a different name that has yet to be decided on. Currently we are working on new material and might release the new demo in the next few months. Anyone who is interested in trying out for vocals is encouraged to do so and should contact Davejoyaldm@aol.com. We might be posting a song on the web for anyone who would like to download it and add their vocals to send to us. We are looking for serious inquiries only and they must be ready to tour. The new material we are working on is centered more on aggressive singing and less on full on screaming. Drowningman would like to say thanks to anyone who has helped us in any way and to all the kids for coming out and supporting us. More info to come and please contact Andrew for any interviews at Sorrowsage6@aol.comMore...

Incivism Finish Demo
Guitarist Brian Griffin and Bassist Sean Baxter (formerly of Broken Hope) have just finished a preproduction demo for their new project Incivism. Incivism has Sean switching from bass to guitar, his original instrument of choice. The demo contains working tracks for the upcoming full length, Voluntary Exile, to be finished by mid-September in Brian's Quali-Tone Studios.
Voluntary Exile will contain ten tracks that are already recorded minus the vocals, scheduled to be completed soon. The demo is already circulating around in Europe and the band is currently shopping it around so any interested parties or anyone that wants to hear a bit of it can email Brian at IncivismBG@aol.com or Sean at shred666@hotmail.com

Transport League to Begin Shooting New Video
Sweden's Transport League will soon start shooting a video for either the track "Lobotomico" or "Disconnect Massconnect", taken from the group's recently-relased Grand Amputation EP, which was issued through their own Hoffa Communications via MNW distribution in Scandinavia. In other news, the band recently inked a publishing deal with Misty Music.
The Defaced Complete Preproduction On Second Album
Sweden's The Defaced, featuring Darkane guitarist Klas Ideberg and Soilwork drummer Henry Ranta, have completed the pre-production process for their sophomore effort and will enter the studio in early August to begin recording the album for a late 2002/early 2003 release through Italy's Scarlet Records. According to the group's official web site, "the [new] material seems very impressive indeed. More grooves and melodies have been added to the sound as a natural progression from Domination Commence. And this without compromising roughness and attitude."
Norther Complete Drum Tracks for Upcoming Album
Finnish thrashers Norther are currently holed up in Astia Studios in Lappeenranta with producer Anssi Kippo, where the band is recording their second as-yet-untitled full-length album and follow-up to last year's Dreams of Endless War effort.
Currently, Norther have finished the drum recordings and are now moving on to the rest of the instruments. In the meantime, the band is busy getting plastered and watching DVDs, as evidenced on their less than helpful studio reports.
Diablerie Boot Vocalist and Bassist
Finnish metallers Diablerie ecently ousted vocalist Henri Villberg and bassist Aleksi Ahokas.
Although no particular reason was given for the split, one reason could be Villberg and Ahokas' departure could be their increased role in countrymen Rapture, where the two have recorded their parts on the band's upcoming Songs for the Withering opus. In any event, Diablerie are looking for serious replacements, and interested parties can email Juha at juha.suorsa@welho.com. Here's Juha's message: "If you are interested and think you meet our requirements, get in touch. You should live near Helsinki or eager to travel frequently, have some experience in being part of a band, and most of all love music and playing without any major restrictions."
In the meantime, Diablerie continue work on the follow-up to their Avantgarde Music debut, Seraphyde, which looks to be out sometime in mid-2003 on said label.
