In Flames Update
Although the Swedes are on the verge of a North American tour, in support of the forthcoming Reroute To Remain, there's still lots of other happenings. It's been almost a year since their Wacken appearance was recorded, for a DVD. Many of those filmed that same weekend are already on the shelves. "It's still under production, as far as I know," claims a somewhat bewildered Bjorn Gelotte. "I didn't hear anything about it for a long time. We got to see a rough mix of it. I know some of the suits were down (in German) trying to mix it. As far as I know it, it's still scheduled. We didn't have the time or work hard on the DVD ourselves, as there were a lot of other projects, recording, planning the tours and video (for 'Cloud Connected'). It hasn't been a priority for us."
In Flames remains a priority for everyone involved, although the various members all have outside interests, as the guitarist/songwriter explains:
"Anders (Friden, vocals) has a project, Passenger. First off, he's got his studio, which he's working on hard, with a couple of friends of his. Me and Daniel (Svensson, drums) have a small side-project, but it's still in the planning stages. We're still writing stuff for it, just for fun. Jesper (Stromblad, guitar) just has Dimension Zero now and Peter (Iwers, bass) has a family, two kids. He keeps telling me it's enough of an outside project and I understand it."
In Flames will be opening for the reunited, original Slayer line-up and Soulfly, beginning August 3rd.
