Defenestration Part With Drummer
British band Defenestration has parted with drummer Ben Gordelia, who wants to concentrate on his recording studio. The band intend to carry on and are currently working on new material.
Machine Head Go Prog?
Machine Head are currently writing songs for their next album, and according to mainman Robert Flynn, the music combines Metallica’s ‘…And Justice For All’ with Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’. Among the working titles are ‘Monster’, ‘All Those Things Left Unsaid’, ‘Fall In Line’ and ‘Pins And Needles’. I'd rather see them just break up, personally - it's been all downhill after Burn My Eyes.

Brand New Sin Confirmed For Locobazooka
Brand New Sin has been confirmed for the WAAF Locobazooka Show on Sunday, September 22nd in Worcester, MA . They will be performing alongside such bands the likes of Disturbed, Black Label Society, Hatebreed.
Sadis Euphoria's Instict and Obsession
Sadis Euphoria has finally finished tracking their upcoming full length titled "Instinct and Obsession". These release will contain 10 songs and a few small instrumental pieces. The disc still needs to be mixed and mastered and artwork needs to be completed, but we are hoping to have this out in November sometime.
Beyond The Sixth Seal Record Cancelled
The upcoming Beyond the Sixth Seal full length release on Willowtip has been canceled. After some talk all parties involved in this release decided that it would be best for it to come out on Lifeforce records worldwide, so be on the lookout for this disc later this year on Lifeforce in both the US and Europe.
Cemetery of Screams hard at work
Cemetery Of Screams are working on the new mini-album which is planned to be released at the end of this year. The full length album should be ready latter of next year.
Void of Silence Find Singer
Void Of Silence has already completed their search for a new singer. After the band tested so many proposals and candidates from all around the world, also thanking the possibility to download demo tracks to sing on from the official site, Void Of Silence decided to join forces with the person who offered the best impression both on the artistic and human side, Surely the perfect one to cover the vocalist's role inside the band. The new singer is Alan Nemtheanga, well known singer from Irish top band Primordial.
The Young And the Useless Notes
The Young And The Useless will be entering the studio this month to record a five-song MCD for Thorp Records, which should be out in January of 2003. This release will complete the band's contract with Thorp, who also released the outfit's full-length last year. TYATU will now be actively searching for another label in addition to touring for a few weeks this Winter. Look for them on the road in December in addition to a string of dates with Living Sacrifice in November.

Heartscarved Breaks Up
Winston-Salem, NC hardcore/metal band Heartscarved has decided to break up. The band had previously released an MCD on Tribunal Records last year, entitled "...And Tomorrow We Escape." Fans of the group will be glad to know that they will be releasing one last CD on Tribunal, which will include the last three songs they had written and recorded. Look for that one to hit stores on November 26th. The band will be playing their final show at the upcoming Tribunal showcase in early-October.
Origin to Tear up the Road
Origin has announced two forthcoming US tours in support of their new album, Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas. The band will hit the road with Immolation, Vader and The Berzerker, beginning November 3rd. The tour actually kicks off with a performance on November 1st at the 2002 CMJ Music Marathon in New York City, where the band will appear as part of the Relapse Records showcase with label mates Mastodon, Cephalic Carnage, Pig Destroyer, Dysrhythmia, Daylight Dies and others. Immediately following the aforementioned tour, Origin will begin a US headlining tour beginning December 8th in Atlanta, GA. The tour will run through December 22nd, with support from All That Remains and Scar Culture. Meanwhile, Origin have announced that long time guitarist Jeremy Turner has stepped down. The split is an amicable one. Turner's spot was filled immediately by returning Origin member/guitarist Clint Appelhanz, who is known previously for his songwriting on the band's demo, A Coming Into Existence.
Reign of Terror to Conquer and Divide
According to guitarist Joe Stump, Reign of Terror will release their new album, Conquer And Divide, on October 23rd in Japan via Avalon Marquee. The album will be released in the rest of the world in late November. Stump will also be releasing two instructional DVD’s. The first, released by Berklee Press, will be a Chop building, technique developing instructional DVD including basic metronome usage, right hand development, some gratuitous shred footage, as well as some play along tracks. The second, released exclusively through Joe Stump.com, is an extensive sweep picking instructional DVD covering 2, 3, 4, and 5 string arpeggio play and also includes excerpts of some of Joe`s favorite arpeggio examples from his various recordings. Also, Joe will release a new 2002 Guitar Masters disc and a new live album before the end of the year, and will take part in a series of guitar clinics this Fall.
Dismember, Primordial, Blood Red Throne to Tour

Macabre Want Your Children
On Wednesday, September 18th, MacabreE will be conducting a photo shoot for their debut recordings release of their acoustic campfire songs and are looking for children to sit around the campfire with Corporate Death (lead guitar/lead vocals) and Nefarious (bass/backing vocals). The campground is in Romeoville, Illinois and the shoot will take place one hour before sundown. The band are inviting parents that want to bring out their kids to e-mail macabre@mindmelt.com and let the group know how many kids they have and their ages. The dress code will be classic country campfire. Marshmallows and refreshments will be provided and the parents and children will get special thanks within the CD.
In other news, Macabre's classic Grim Reality effort has been remixed by Neil Kernon and will come out in 2003 through Decomposed Records. More...
Candlemass Announce Additional Dates
The reunited classic line-up of Candlemass—vocalist Messiah Marcolin, bassist/founder Leif Edling, guitarist Mats Björkman, lead guitarist Lars Johansson and drummer Jan Lindh—have announced additional European dates in October. They are as follows:

Marquez Replaced Herrera
Sadistic Intent drummer Emilio Marquez is said to have permanently replaced Fear Factory timekeeper Raymond Herrera in Brujeria and Asesino, both of which feature Herrera's former bandmate, ex-FF guitarist Dino Cazares. Marquez has been touring with Asesino since earlier this year and is believed to be the most likely candidate to play drums on the forthcoming Brujeria studio CD, due sometime in 2003.
Sentenced Goes Gold
Sentenced have been awarded a gold album in their native Finland for sales of over 15,000 copies of the group's latest effort, The Cold White Light.
Anselmo Speaks About Ozzfest Experience
Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo, who is scheduled to head back out on the road with Superjoint Ritual in October, recently talked about the experience of headlining the second stage at Ozzfest with Down.
"All the bands, all the faces, all the people... It's a whole different take for me," stated Anselmo. "Because normally with Pantera we're on the big stage, but of course with Down...we're headlining the second stage. I think it's been absolutely perfect. I think we couldn't have asked for anything better. We're not tough to please, regardless, and I think it's beautiful."
