Lullacry Enter Studio
This past Monday, Lullacry along with producer Mikko Karmila of Finnvox set out to lay down the band's crucially important third offering. The new album is expected to see retail daylight at the beginning of 2003, prior to which a single from the upcoming album will be released along with a video to coincide. At the beginning of 2003, Lullacry will also set out on the road again for a set of Finnish dates and will make a European tour before the 2003 summer festival season.
Carnal Forge Adding More Melody to Their Songs
Sweden's Carnal Forge are writing material for The More You Suffer, the follow-up to Please...Die. The band have added more melodies to their aggressive thrash tunes, and there will also be more mid-paced, groovin' tracks again. Watch out for their new record early 2003.
Tiamat Launch New Website
Tiamat have a new web site at www.churchoftiamat.com. Just in time for the start of the second leg of their European tour the band got a totally new website! Designed by drummer Lars Sköld and Johan Edlund, a lot of new things can be found. For example the lyrics to every Tiamat song ever recorded have been uploaded to the site and can be found in the discography section. Further you can find a live clip from the song "children of the underworld" performed at the Summer Breeze Open Air in the Multimedia section.
Black Dahlia Murder Looking for Guitarist, Label
Detroit metal band Black Dahlia Murder recently finished recording a three song demo with Brian Ebert (Kenshiro). The material will be used for promotional purposes since the band is in search of a label (any interested parties can contact the band here) to release their debut full-length, which will most likely be recorded in late-December or January. Look for the material to be posted on MP3.com in the very near future. Otherwise, don't expect BDM to play too many shows in the near future as they will be focusing on writing the full-length. In related news, John, the band's second guitarist, has left the group. Apparently, other responsibilities weren't leaving enough time for the band. Not surprisingly, BDM is now looking for a replacement. If you live in the Detroit area and are a skilled guitarist (soloing ability is preferred), email them here

Kreator/Destruction Cancel Pittsburgh Date

Hades Almighty Looking for New Label
Norway's Hades Almighty have parted ways with Psychobitch Records and are currently seeking to sign a new label deal. In the meantime, the group are continuing work on the material for the follow-up to last year's The Pulse Of Decay CD, due sometime in 2003. According to the band, "[the new songs] span from sinister, atmospheric and horror-like pieces to aggressive, almost Slayer-ish, intensity. Some of it even has a doom-like, almost stoner, heaviness to it."
Anthrax to Headline Show in Switzerland
Anthrax will perform a headlining show at Z-7 Konzertfabrik in Pratteln, Switzerland on Saturday, October 26th. The concert will take place on an "off" day during the band's European tour with Motörhead, which is scheduled to kick off on October 13th in Manchester, England. Support at the Pratteln show will come from Switzerland's Megora, an unsigned act that has previously shared the stage with such groups as Megadeth, Machine Head, Annihilator, Nevermore, Iced Earth, and Overkill, among others.
The Defaced Complete Karma in Black
Swedish death/thrash combo The Defaced, featuring Darkane guitarist Klas Ideberg and Soilwork drummer Henry Ranta, have apparently completed recording their second full-length album, Karma in Black, and are nearing the mixing phase.
"I can easily say that we've all done our very best to make the most out of the songs," revealed guitarist Mattias Svensson. "We've worked damn hard for about 6 weeks with the recordings and it feels very good to know that what we bring to the mixing desk is going to rip big time! Like I've said before the material is going to be a bit different than on Domination Commence but in a good way. It feels more mature and more up to date."
"Another thing that's been settled is that the highly talented and most excellent Travis Smith is going to do the artwork for the album," continued Svensson. "We're of course very excited to see what he comes up with. We're sure it'll be something really cool." More...
