Dreaming of Stabbing Westward
Former STABBING WESTWARD frontman Chris Hall has teamed up with ex-STAR 69 members Johnny Haro (drums) and Warren Huart (guitar) in a brand new project called THE DREAMING. The as-yet-unsigned group, whose sound is said to be more reminiscent of that of early Stabbing Westward than the one found on the band's final, self-titled album, are reportedly demoing material with producer/engineer Bryan Carlstrom (who engineered Stabbing Westward's Darkest Days CD) and are hoping to issue their debut album sometime in 2003.
No Severe Torture In Switzerland
Dutch death metallers Severe Torture have been banned from playing in Switzerland, because the cover for current album ‘Misanthropic Carnage’ was deemed perverse, sick and offensive. The record’s available on Hammerheart, if you’re inclined to check it out.
Faust Making Plans Already
Former Emperor drummer Faust will be released from prison at the end of the year after serving nearly a decade for murdering a homosexual. And he’s already planning at least two projects. One is with Dissection, guesting on their new album, while the other is a new, as yet unnamed band with ex-Emperor guitarist Zamoth.
The Blueprint
The Blueprint, featuring former Earthtone9 frontman Karl Middleton, Pitchshifter bassist Mark Clayden, ex-Pitchshifter guitarist Matt Grundy plus Consumed pair Will Burchall (guitar) and Chris Billam (drums), are recording their debut EP with producer Andy Sneap. It’s to be titled ‘zero*zero*one’ and released late next month.
