Ex-Metal Church Singer Is A Bastard

David Wayne, one time singer with Metal Church, has joined UK metal band Bastardsun. He will be the vocalist on the band’s upcoming debut album. Bastardsun are the brainchild of former Cradle Of Filth guitarist Stuart Anstis.

Mayhem to Reissue Wolf's Lair Abyss

Candlelight USA has confirmed October 14th as the release date for the reissue of Mayhem’s Wolf's Lair Abyss. The recording continues the label's classic reissue series - adding to earlier reissues by Arcturus, Fleurety and Ved Buens Ende.

Originally released in 1998 for the Misanthropy label, Wolf Lair’s Abyss bridged the studio gap between full-length albums just after the media started to “forget” about the band’s criminal activities. It is the first time the album is available for US fans (previously only available as an expensive import or bootleg). Featuring the line-up of Maniac, Hellhammer, Necrobutcher and Blasphemer, it is an essential piece to the band’s musical legacy.. More...

Krokus to Release New Live Album

Veteran Swiss hard rockers Krokus are currently compiling a live album recorded earlier this year containing all the classics along with a few surprises. An early 2004 release is expected. In other news, Sanctuary/Castle Music have just issued a Krokus compilation entitled "Long Stick Goes Boom: The Anthology". According to the group's official web site, "the band and the [current] record company [have] nothing to do with that release. These are only already released material nothing is new on that CD. The live tracks are taken from the Arista album 'Alive & Screaming'! We will not promote this CD so no interviews from our side."

Seethings Set Release Date for Parallels

Seethings, the new Swedish band fronted by former Darkane vocalist Lawrence Mackrory, will release their debut album, "Parallels", in Europe and Scandinavia on October 27 through Scarlet Records. Division Records will release the album in France and Switzerland. At this point, the group have no release dates for U.S. and Asia but hope to secure something soon. In conjunction with the release, Seethings will throw two parties in Stockholm and in the band's hometown of Uppsala on September 29 and the 30. Both events will feature a live performance by the band.

The Legion Post New Song Online

Swedish black/death metallers The Legion have posted a new song, titled "Those Beyond", at this location. "Those Beyond" comes off the group's forthcoming debut album, "Unseen To Creation", tentatively due in October through France's Listenable Records.

The album, which is being recorded at Abyss Studios with producer Tommy Tägtgren, will reportedly feature "eight to ten songs of complex and eclectic black/death metal, ranging in style from Morbid Angel to Setherial." The cover art is being done by Kris Verwimp, who has previously worked with Marduk, Absu, and Immortal, among others.

Forgotten Suns Finish Recording New Album

FORGOTTEN SUNS has finished the recordings for the new album. The mix of the album will be made in Lisboa by Jorge Avillez and Forgotten Suns during the next week. The single and videoclip is choosen and recordings are scheduled to September 2003.

The album artwork will be made by Mattias Nóren (Derek Sherinian, Arjen Lucassen, Evergrey).

Phil Not On Speaking Terms w/ Pantera Members

PANTERA frontman Philip Anselmo has revealed that he is no longer on speaking terms with the group's guitarist Dimebag Darrell — the result of a "falling out" that the singer says he is not sure "what the hell it's about."

Speaking to Revolver magazine for its September 2003 issue, Anselmo — who is currently focusing all of his attention on SUPERJOINT RITUAL — said that he doesn't expect his PANTERA bandmates to wait around on him before pursuing other projects of their own. More...
