Dawn Of Azazel Sign To Agonia
DAWN OF AZAZEL from New Zeland signed to Agonia Records upon release of their debut album 'The Law of Strong' on CD and limited LP. European tour is planned for mid 2004.
Bullet To Release Debut MCD
After a successful demo tape - 'Heavy Metal Highway' - Bullet strikes back with a debut mini CD featuring 6 headbanger tracks of old-school heavy metal. Bullet delivers a strong dose of music in the vein of old Accept, Iron Maiden or Razor. The band features both ex-Hypnosia members.
Snake River Conspiracy Bring Back Original Drummer
Snake River Conspiracy have brought back original drummer Neil Taylor. He replaces former Orgy man Bobby Hewitt. The band have also brought in a second guitarist, Eric Hendrikx. SRC are still looking for a new record deal.
Turbonegro Roadie Arrested For Knife
Turbonegro were embroiled in controversy when an 18-inch knife was discovered in their luggage at Stuttgart Airport. The band insisted that this was a stage prop, but the authorities refused to believe them, eventually arresting one of their roadies, Trond. He was subsequently released after paying a fine.
Iced Earth Drop Out Of Wacken Festival
Iced Earth have been forced to pull out of the Wacken Festival, as the search continues for a new vocalist to replace Matt Barlow. They’ve been replaced on the bill by Twisted Sister. The Wacken Festival takes place from July 31 to August 2.
Kingcrow To Enter Studio
Kingcrow (classic prog metal from Italy) will enter Legend Studios in Rome on Sept., 13th to record their second album, tentatively entitled "Insider". It will be a Concept album that will show the heavier, histrionic and progressive sides of the band. Here is the tracklist: More...
Alkemyst Release Debut Album
Alkemyst have released their debut album, Meeting In The Mist. The album was produced by the band, recorded by Laurent Nafissi and mixed by Alkemyst and L. Nafissi at Studio NSR in La Garde Adhémar, France from June to October 2002. The release was mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studio in Helsinki, Finland in November and December 2002.
In live news, the band are scheduled to perform at Festival de Raismes in Raismes, France on September 13th. Alkemyst are also booked to play Festival Crolles in Crolles, France on November 15th.
Nevermore to Play Hometown Release Party
Nevermore will be playing a hometown CD release party on July 18th at Studio 7 in Seattle, Washington. This is an all-ages show and alcohol will be available to those 21 and up. For those not in Washington, you can purchase tickets through www.ticketswest.com for $12.50 ($15 the day of the show). This will be a full headlining Nevermore set and special giveaway packages will be given out all night.

Dissection Seeking New Members
Reactivated Swedish death metallers Dissection, now featuring guitarist/vocalist Jon Nödtvedt and ex-Emperor drummer Bård "Faust" Eithun, are looking for a rhythm/lead guitarist and bassist to complete the group's new lineup.
Jon has reportedly completed work on a pre-production recording of 11 new songs, and is expecting to enter Abyss Studios sometime next year to record the group's third full-length effort. A tentative late 2004 release through Nuclear Blast Records is expected.

Soilwork Video Posted Online
Soilwork's video for the track "Light The Torch" has been posted online at this location. "Light The Torch" comes off the group's latest CD, "Figure Number Five", available since May on Nuclear Blast Records.
Soilwork are currently touring North America with In Flames, Chimaira and Unearth. An appearance at Germany's Wacken Open Air festival in August will be followed by a Japanese tour with Children of Bodom and an Australian tour with Frankenbok.

Top Rockers Pull Songs From The Net
Rollingstone.com reports Linkin Park, Green Day, Metallica, and several others are refusing to make their songs available as a la carte downloads, insisting that services sell their entire albums or nothing at all on online services such as iTunes. "Certain songs might not fit on radio for one reason or another but are just as important an artistic statement," said Marc Reiter of Q-Prime, the management company that handles the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica and Garbage -- all of whom are keeping their songs offline. "We refuse to kowtow to the fact that it's a singles market for downloads."
That goes a little way to defeat the spin about Metallica willingly posting mp3s online. They obviously still have issues of control in the online realm.
