Star Wars Kid On Slayer
Ok, so as well as being a die-hard metalhead, I'm also a self-admitted geek (hey, how do you think I've coded this site from scratch?). If you know who the "Star Wars Kid" is, there's a good chance you have a little geek in you too. Anyway, I was browsing over to a link a friend sent me with more alternate versions of this internet phenomenon and lo-and-behold there is a version set to Slayer. It's pretty funny stuff, although not the funniest of the bunch. If you don't understand the significance of this Internet phenomenon (why the hell is watching this dork flail around funny?), you can read the description on the site.
Just thought I'd share that. Sometimes I marvel at just how much metal permeates everyday things such as this.

Pressure 4-5 Break Under Pressure
Ozzfest 2001 alumni PRESSURE 4-5 have decided to call it quits. Guitarist Mark Berry has posted on the recently confirmed rumors on the band's official message board: "I know there have been a lot of rumors flying around this message board for the last few months. Unfortunately about 90% of them are true, and Pressure4-5 is no more. After our last show here in SB, Adam decided to call it quits to pursue other goals, and the rest of us have decided to do the same. I personally want everyone to know how much I appreciate all the support over the last five years. Thanks for coming out and rocking at our shows, for helping us spread the word about P:4-5 (especially the street team members) and thanks to my bros who built and helped run the web site. All of your help and support will never be forgotten. Sorry about all of the silence but it was out of our control. There were some things to take care of before we could make the final announcement. We're also sorry about all of the second hand info you've been getting from the Message board. We agreed that everyone 'deserved to know' what was going on, and no one was being 'kept in the dark' on purpose, because like I said, it was out of our hands. I'm going to be on AIM from time to time (BandP45) if any of you want to keep in touch. Also, feel free to email us anytime (Pressure45band@hotmail.com). I don't think the message board will be taken down anytime soon, if at all, so I encourage everyone to drop by every once in awhile and say what up. I know I'll keep checking in. Again thanks for everything." The band had initially planned to record & release a brand new album through Dreamworks sometime this year, but with the recent departures of their vocalist, bassist, and drummer, this was not possible.
Chaosbreed's Album will be "Brutal"

"Brutal" will be recorded in early September at Sunlight Studio in Stockholm, Sweden with producer Tomas Skogsberg. Among the songtitles set to appear on the CD are "Demon Skunk" (which the band describe as "a skull-crushing heavy monster"), "Casket Ride" ("groovy mid-tempo bone-breaker") and "Moralized" (hyperspeed death-metal frenzy). Akercocke Sign with Earache
British satanic metallers Akercocke have officially signed to Earache Records, after a one-album stint (Goat of Mendes) with Peaceville Records, for the release of their third full-length Choronzon.
"Akercocke fit perfectly the Earache criteria of extremity in all areas," explains label manager Dan Tobin. "The band's music is without question among the most challenging and innovative in the extreme Metal scene right now. Their insistence on high quality and their refusal to deviate from their chosen path is what makes the band so intriguing and so individual. We look forward to aiding Akercocke in spreading their Satanic majesty via the awesome new Choronzon album later this year."
Meanwhile, guitarist Jason Mendonca had this to say regarding their new label deal: "We are proud to follow in the footsteps of such luminaries as Terrorizer, Morbid Angel and more recently Deicide by joining forces with Earache. It is fitting that our band should work with a label that has lead the way in promoting extreme music and we look forward to a productive partnership. We are also very pleased to be conspiring with Neil Kernon to make Choronzon as punishing and massive sounding as possible. Beware! Choronzon is coming." More...
