In Flames 'Come Clarity' Video Posted Online
Swedish metal titans IN FLAMES have completed work on the second video from their current album, entitled "Come Clarity". The title track from the CD, "Come Clarity" was helmed by famed director Lex Halaby (ATMOSPHERE, MUDVAYNE, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE), who also recently wrapped shooting on the video for "Snakes on a Plane (Bring It)" from the upcoming New Line Cinema high-concept action/horror film "Snakes on a Plane", starring Samuel L. Jackson. The eye-catching clip was filmed in the scorching desert of Ridgecrest, California during the second leg of IN FLAMES' recent North American headlining tour and features the band performing "Come Clarity" in the midst of a brilliant setting, while an evolving storyline that features frontman Anders Fridén progressively unfolds. An exclusive still image from the video is available here. The entire video can be viewed at this location. The video will make its world network premiere(s) via large-scale television outlets such as MTV2, Music Choice, Fuse and MuchMusic imminently. All That Remains New Album Killing The Charts
Massachusetts-based metal act ALL THAT REMAINS has officially scanned almost 13,000 copies of the bands latest release, ˜The Fall of Ideals, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Strong first week sales also result in the album catapulting to a # 75 debut on the Billboard Top 200 charts. The success of the The Fall of Ideals marks the most strongest first week ever for a Prosthetic Records band. The album is a joint release between Prosthetic and Razor & Tie. Prosthetic is the Los Angeles-based label which began in 1997 and was the launching pad for international sensations LAMB OF GOD. It is currently enjoying success with upstarts THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD.
Currently touring North America as part of Ozzfest 2006, ALL THAT REMAINS will continue touring throughout the summer and fall to support the bands new release, having already stormed Europe as part of Sounds of The Underground earlier this year. "The Fall of Ideals" was recorded with producer Adam Dutkiewicz (Killswitch Engage). The album marks the recorded debuts of new bassist Jeanne Sagan and drummer Shannon Lucas. The result is an album that Revolver magazine dubs, "Both brutal and beautiful. Scary good."
Behemoth Frontman Checks In From SOTU 2
Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH made their triumphant return to U.S. last week as a part of massive Sounds Of The Underground tour in support of the band's latest record, Demigod. Vocalist/guitarist Nergal checks in with the following report:
"We've been on the road for more than a week now and let me tell you something, it's the most fun tour we've ever been on. Every day is a massive party and it's rather hard to avoid it ha ha...I'm happy to see that all the bands and the crew people can become such a happy metal family. Thank you all for that! Bah, I forgot about the very generous Jagermeister people at the Jagermeister tent, roasted salmon and shots rule, ha ha...
"I love watching GWAR almost every day. These guys are just pure fun to watch and hang out with. Cannibal nails it every show too. What a merciless killing machine. I'm suprised by the Trivium set and they are definitely a talented band. A few minutes ago I was checking out In Flames and believe me, 'Take This Life' sounds huuuge live.
"The shows are tough due to the merciless heat. We go on around 3PM every day in full sun armored in spikes and leather. It's not an easy thing to do but the feedback we get from the crowd is overwhelming. Thanks for showing up early and attending our signing sessions. It's definitely worth struggling the harsh weather conditions for fans like you! No matter what, we are the devil and the devil's work we do!"

Red Chord Frontman Not Big On Ozzfest
While most young metal acts would maim — maybe even kill — for a chance to spend their summer traveling the U.S. as part of Ozzfest, THE RED CHORD's Guy Kozowyk's sort of blithe about the whole situation.
Sure, he's excited about being on this summer's Ozzfest and appreciates his band being invited. But to him, it's no big deal — he's not nervous, like some of the other bands on the tour because, the way he sees it, Ozzfest is just another gig.
"Whatever," he said, when asked what was going through his head the morning before Ozzfest kicked off here. "Honestly, for us, it's just like another day at the office. It's definitely exciting. If you'd asked me a year ago if my band would ever be on Ozzfest, it's like, 'We're a death-metal/grindcore/whatever band — Ozzfest is never going to go for that.' And so it's definitely unexpected and definitely crazy, but at the same time, we've played over 800 shows. We've played backyards, we've played basements and we've played the Sounds of the Underground in front of thousands of people. We're ready for anything. As excited as we are, we're just going to go do what we always do."
Kozowyk, who runs his own label, Black Market Activities, knows that Ozzfest is perhaps the biggest tour his band will ever be on and has heard people talking about how beneficial a slot on the fest can be for a band like THE RED CHORD. But he's not letting it go to his head.
"People say Ozzfest can make or break a band, but for us, we're ready to get bigger and we're ready to go back if it comes down to it," he said. "We've played so many small shows, and we're so comfortable in the small environment, that if Ozzfest doesn't break us into the mainstream, we're ready to go back to playing VFWs and basements. We've had such a good time that it doesn't matter what happens on Ozzfest for us. We're going to just roll with it. If it comes down to us being the big Ozzfest success, that's great. We'll sell a bunch of records. But as soon as the metal/hardcore/extreme-music thing drops off, and it isn't making the Billboard charts anymore, we really don't care — whatever. We'll be happy selling 20,000 records and playing to a couple hundred kids a night. It doesn't matter to us.
"Our attitude has always been THE RED CHORD are normal people playing to normal people out in the crowd. We're not better or bigger than anyone," he continued. "It's intriguing to think that we can come out of this tour and be the biggest death-metal band to date, because I don't know that there's any real brutal death-metal bands that have done this in the past. I think if [death metal's] ever going to get big, this might be our only shot. If it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be. We could care less."
THE RED CHORD's 2005 LP, Clients, was reissued last month with demo and live tracks, and Kozowyk said the band will settle into the writing process for its next album following Ozzfest and some more U.S. touring. He hopes to start recording the CHORD's third disc, which they've already named Birdbath, early next year.
"We started naming songs but we haven't really written any songs yet," he explained. "We have a bunch of song titles ['I Am Not a Lawnmower,' 'The Robot From the Future,' 'Skin Beef' and 'The Brian Slagel Song,' to name a few], ideas and a bunch of parts, but we just don't have the actual songs done yet. We want to have a new record ready for next summer."

Into Eternity Reveal New Album Artwork
Technically progressive metal band INTO ETERNITY have posted The Scattering Of Ashes cover art online. With cover art was designed by Mattias Noren (Stratovarius, Evergrey), the album is scheduled for an October 3 North American release. Vocalist Stu Block commented, "Mattias designed the first three INTO ETERNITY album covers (Into Eternity, Dead Or Dreaming and Buried in Oblivion). They have all been amazing but yet different in their own way. There was no doubt in our minds that The Scattering Of Ashes cover would live up to those expectations. Mattias is a really talented guy and all we had to do was tell him the album title and that we wanted it to have a dark feeling to it, so he ran with it and nailed it pretty much right away. We are all really happy with the end result of the artwork, layout and sound of the album. We have been listening to the mixed and mastered version of the album from Andy Sneap (Arch Enemy, Killswitch Engage) and it sounds absolutely killer!! This album is definitely one of the most aggressive INTO ETERNITY albums ever, and now with Andy's touch on it it's over the top Metal Madness!!!"
INTO ETERNITY circumnavigated North America five times in support of 2004’s Buried In Oblivion touring with among others Amorphis, Hate Eternal and Krisiun, Hammerfall and Edguy, Nevermore and Opeth, and Stratovarius. Look for the band to tour extensively in support of The Scattering Of Ashes starting in North America this fall.

In Flames Bassist Checks In From Road of SOTU 2
IN FLAMES bassist Peter Iwers has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"Almost two weeks into the [Sounds of the Underground] tour and things are awesome. We're having a great time with some of the other bands, playing poker, drinking beer and having good old-fashioned fun. The shows are amazing, and I'd like to thank everybody for coming out to support us. We did a one-off show with CANNIBAL CORPSE the other day and that was great. It was an old church and we played, I guess, where the altar used to be... weird... but good fun.
"Anyways ...what else have we been doing? That's right. Yesterday, me, Jesper [Strömblad, guitar] and some of our crew went down to the river in Myrtle Beach for some jet skiing (is that how you spell it?) and that was so great. Just cruising down the river that, by the way, looked as it was inhabited by millions of alligators... but I never saw one, luckily — would probably have gotten freaked out if that happened. We had a little accident with the jet skis, but nothing major. Victor and I had sort of a collision when we were trying to splash one of the other crew guys and my knee got busted, but things like that happen, I guess..."
IN FLAMES is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Come Clarity", which came out in February via Ferret Music.

Slayer Alternate Less Offensive Album Art Revealed
BLABBERMOUTH.NET can reveal the alternate non-graphic SLAYER "Christ Illusion" album cover that is being offered to retailers who will not carry the regular version because it is "too offensive." Check it out at this location.
The "regular" cover artwork for SLAYER's new album, "Christ Illusion" can be viewed at this location. Larry Carroll, who did the cover artwork for SLAYER's "Reign in Blood", "South of Heaven", and "Seasons In the Abyss" album, painted this original piece for the "Christ Illusion" cover. Working only from the song titles and early lyrics, Carroll has produced a classic SLAYER masterpiece — a portrait of the Christ whose forearms have been chopped off, standing in an ocean of blood surrounded by floating, decapitated heads. Carroll created the painting on a 4-by-4-foot slab of wood using a combination of mediums. SLAYER guitarist Kerry King already has placed dibs on ownership of the original wooden canvas.
Disturbed Drummer: "Tons of New Energy" On Ozzfest
Launch Radio Networks reports: DISTURBED is currently making its fourth Ozzfest appearance and first as a co-headliner. This year's event also has founder OZZY OSBOURNE playing less shows and headlining the second stage on many of the ones he is playing. DISTURBED drummer Mike Wengren told Launch that the changes have given the 11-year-old tour a boost. "This particular one has got a lot of new energy to it, to me," he said. "You know, one thing that's been really inspirational on this particular run is watching Ozzy headline second stage. I mean, he looks like he's 20 years younger, he's on fire, he's having a blast, and it's really been inspiring us and everybody else on the tour."
Osbourne has the rest of the week off before returning to the second stage on Saturday (July 22) in East Troy, Wisconsin.
DISTURBED and SYSTEM OF A DOWN will close the show tonight (Wednesday, July 19) in Detroit, Michigan and Friday (July 21) in Columbus, Ohio.

Pittsburgh Ozzfest Nets 5 Arrest, Police Happy?
According to Observer-Reporter.com, five people were arrested during the daylong Ozzfest at the Post Gazette Pavilion in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Tuesday (Jul 18).
Given the hot weather and the number of people attending the festival, the Hanover Township police chief was pleased there were so few problems.
"People for the most part were pretty cooperative, considering how hot it was and how long it lasted," Chief Jim Geho told Observer-Reporter.com.
Police, however, did make several arrests.
Township police said William S. Solomon, 30, head-butted Nicole Lynn Wilson, 27, during a confrontation in the parking lot. She suffered a contusion and swelling on the bridge of her nose. Solomon was charged with harassment and simple assault.
Meanwhile, Wilson reportedly was told repeatedly by police to stop cursing, but they said she continued to disobey and was taken into custody. She was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
Both were arraigned before District Judge James Ellis and released.
Three New Kensington men were arrested after a fight in the lawn area of the venue Tuesday evening.
David Borowski, 20, and Richard Donald Borowski, 24, and Devin Garrett Gillary, 20, are accused of striking Steven P. Craven, Steven Craven Jr. and Jocelyn Shearer, township police said. Steven P. Craven suffered a severe head laceration, according to court records.
The Borowskis and Gillary were arraigned before District Judge James Ellis on three counts each of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Geho told Observer-Reporter.com police also issued 252 citations for violations such as disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and underage drinking.
The Haunted Frontman Dying To Get Back On Tour
THE HAUNTED frontman Peter Dolving has posted the following message on his official blog:
"Slowly over the last couple of weeks my crackling psyche has been regaining some of the balance I felt I'd completely lost there for a while.
"I'm getting back in shape physically and I've come to understand that I really need to be very fucking careful with myself. With this new album coming out I suppose I'm both scared and proud at the same time.
"The last batch of festival shows have gone really well and I've been enjoying myself and the fact that my back and left shoulder is not just a knot of pain anymore. More...
