Dragonlord Guitarist Gian Pyres Ready To Tour
Former CRADLE OF FILTH and current DRAGONLORD guitarist Gian Pyres has fully recovered from the tendonitis in his left hand which forced DRAGONLORD to cancel their summer U.S. tour.
Says Pyres: What fucking tendonitis?? I tried picking the axe up after this time of resting... and I didnt seem to feel the old pain return! I've healed now fully and it's business as usual folks. My guitar is plugged the fuck in and ready to lay waste to your lives once more."
DRAGONLORD is the San Francisco-based black metal band featuring Eric Peterson (guitar, vocals; TESTAMENT), Pyres, Derrick Ramirez (bass), Lyle Livingston (keys) and Jon Allen (drums; SADUS, ex-TESTAMENT).
DRAGONLORD have been added to the upcoming Thrash Domination 2006 two-day mini-festival, set to take place on September 16-17 at Club Citta in Tokyo, Japan. Also scheduled to appear are VENOM, DEATH ANGEL, SODOM and ONSLAUGHT.
DRAGONLORD's sophomore album, "Black Wings of Destiny", was released in the U.S. in October 2005 via Escapi Music. The follow-up to 2001's "Rapture" (Spitfire Records) was recorded and mixed by Fredrik Nordström (HAMMERFALL, DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH ENEMY) at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Testament Drummer Clemente To Sit Out Tour Dates
Due to medical reasons, TESTAMENT drummer Louie Clemente will be unable to perform with the band on the upcoming shows scheduled in the United States, Europe, and South Korea. Veteran drummer and good friend Paul Bostaph (EXODUS, ex-SLAYER, FORBIDDEN, SYSTEMATIC) will be filling in for Louie on the following dates in July and August:
Jul. 12 - Key Club - Hollywood, CA
Jul. 13 - Galaxy Theatre - Santa Ana, CA

Jul. 26 - JB's - Dudley, UK
Jul. 28 - Metalway Festival - Jerez, SPA
Jul. 29 - Metalway Festival - Gernika, SPA
Aug. 05 - Busan Rock Festival - Busan City, KOR
TESTAMENT are tentatively planning to enter the studio in the fall to record the long-awaited follow-up to 1999's "The Gathering", due in early 2007.
In a recent interview with LivingForMetal.com, TESTAMENT guitarist Eric Peterson stated that the upcoming CD will feature the band's original lineup. He said, "We're gonna get Louie [Clemente] to come back to do some songs. The drummer situation, we are probably gonna use a couple of drummers 'cause we've had people that are in our lives and a part of TESTAMENT so it wouldn't be fair to not have these people play on it. Probably Jon Allen from DRAGONLORD and SADUS will play on it, who's also been a part of TESTAMENT and toured with us. Just the way we do things now, we don't tour extensively so it's kind of hard to keep steady players. Like if something comes up and someone's not available we'll go, 'Let's see if this guy's available.' Yeah it's gonna be killer, the new material is sounding pretty old-school. . . Alex's [Skolnick, guitar] got some riffs that he's been sending me and they sound pretty TESTAMENT, just really cool stuff. Like that 'Apocalyptic City' kind of vibe. Good chord progressions with octaves over it."

Brothers, Dokkalfur and Ljosalfur are the heart and soul of the band. Having both grown up listening to all kinds of metal they have one collective mind when it comes to the realms of music. Primitive Graven Image serves as an outlet for the Black Metal feeling within them.
The band itself is relatively new and their first full length album set to come out in early 2007 on Open Grave Records. In the mean time, Primitive Graven Image is ready to unleash its first collection of recordings to the world. Interview
Interview With Seth Uldricks Of Southern Cross
In the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the residents of Asheville, North Carolina may not know it just yet, but this wonderful place to live has bred Southern Cross, one of underground metal music's brightest new talents. Southern Cross is made up of Seth on vocals, Jenna on lead guitar, Ranke on bass and Maxfield playing the drums. They blend the obvious Southern flavor of bands like Eyehategod, Down and Soilent Green with the battering til your knocked out monster riff assault of Pantera and Corrosion Of Conformity. They are quickly gaining thousands of fans via Myspace in a frenzy that seems to have no slowdown in sight. They are working on their debut CD and have been stomping through venues all over their local area with other blazing underground acts, like Evansville, Indiana's Deliver Us From Evil. I wanted to get more in depth now with this rising act, and so I am pleased to present this discussion with their extremely gifted and highly outspoken singer, Seth Uldricks. More...
Slayer Under Fire From Christian Groups
World Entertainment News Network is reporting that SLAYER are courting controversy among Christian groups by releasing sacrilegious artwork on their latest album.
The cover for upcoming record, "Christ Illusion", depicts a tattooed and amputated Jesus Christ standing in a sea of blood and corpses, and has infuriated right-wing religious groups.
The Californian foursome are preparing themselves for a bitter backlash after the pictures were slammed as hurtful and grossly irreverent.
However, guitarist Kerry King defends the shocking imagery, saying, "We wanted Christ in a sea of despair.
"The first version that came back looked like he was just chilling out in the water!"
Frontman Tom Araya adds, "Then when they sent a new one he had his eyes half open and was surrounded by floating heads. It was much better because he looked like a drug addict!"
SLAYER hit the headlines last month when fans desecrated a New York City seminary after being urged by a fansite to cause chaos on the so-called "day of the devil." They have also angered 9/11 victims' families with extremist track "Jihad", which appears on their new album.
To/Die/For Post Single Online
Finnish goth metalheads To/Die/For have uploaded a clip of their new single 'Like Never Before' at their MySpace page. This track comes from their upcoming album, "Wounds Wide Open," due out in October.
The follow-up to 2005's "IV" was recorded by Samu Oittinen at Fantom Studios and by Jari-Jukka Nippala at Sonic Image, and sent to Sweden's Abyss Studios to be mixed by Peter Tägtgren (DIMMU BORGIR, CELTIC FROST). Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Wicked Circle", "Guilt Ridden State", "Quiet Room" and "Liquid Lies".
Earlier this year, parted ways with guitarist Mika "Alli" Ahtiainen and have replaced him with returning axeman Joonas "Jope" Koto.
