Puddle of Mudd Tour, Radio

Wes Scantlin and his Puddle of Mudd bandmates will launch a month-long headlining tour October 18 in Atlanta and will also take time to pay back some of the radio stations spinning their hit "Control."

Life After Metallica

Bassist Jason Newsted toured, recorded and partied with Metallica 24-7 for some 13 years. After quitting the band in February, at least partly because of a ban on side projects, he suddenly found the flexibility to work on multiple projects with different artists.

Newsted, 38, is producing an album by punk-metal behemoth Speedealer and anticipating the major-label debut of his trio EchoBrain. Toward the end of the year, he'll begin producing New York noise-metal band Dragpipe before entering the studio with Voivod to play bass on the band's allegedly final album. And if he has time, he'll play drums with his hobby band, Papa Wheelie, or hook up with old pals from Machine Head, Death Angel and Exodus to record various projects.

Manson's Movie Projects

MARILYN MANSON have recorded a version of "Tainted Love" (originally done by SOFT CELL) that will be released as a single in conjunction with the film Not Another Teen Movie. Look for the single sometime in early November.

In other movie news, MANSON's remix of the "Nobodies" will appear in the Johnny Depp film From Hell as well as on the movie soundtrack. The score music that MANSON composed in the film will not be used because no agreement could be reached. Look for other Manson film projects to be announced soon.

Dope Pushes Back Release

Dope have pushed back the release date of their upcoming new album "Life" to November 06th. The outing will be released through Flip/Epic, and a video for the first single "Now Or Never" is planned to begin airing shortly.

(hed)p.e. have re-released their long out of print 1995 outing "Church Of Realities", through their official website www.hedpe.com.

In other news, the group are also expected to post the self-produced video for their latest single "The Meadow", which was directed by band guitarist Chizad, on their website in the near future.

Spike 1000 Gets Family Values

Spike 1000 will be playing the first five dates of the Family Values Tour, and then strike out on their own string of gigs until mid-November. Tour dates will be posted on their website as they are confirmed. Their single "Make Me Suffer" was in the top ten most requested songs in Bakersfield, CA, and San Francisco's #1 local lounge pick on Live 105 for August.

The CD, "Waste of Skin, is their first US release. "Prime" which was only available in Japan, was released early in 2000.
