Newsted the Speedealer
As previously reported, Jason Newsted will be playing bass and producing the leatest record from Texas' Speedealer. He's taking on a new role as producer on the band's upcoming album of power guitar rock, a sound that grabbed Newsted, who claims, "Speedealer is the first heavy band worthy of my 110 percent commitment since Metallica." Currently, the Dallas quartet are crafting their record tentatively titled Second Sight, which is slated to come out in spring 2002 on Palm Records.

Misery Loves Company
Guitarist Sparky Voyles (Dying Fetus, M.O.D.) has reunited with his old Dying Fetus bandmates Kevin Talley (dr) and Jason Netherton (bass/vox) in Misery Index- the line-up is rounded out by Mike Harrison (gtr/vox) - the band recently released an EP called 'Overthrow'

What's old is new again in Jacobs Dream land - guitarists Jon Noble and Gary Holtzman have rejoined the group and Derek Eddleblute has been ousted - in addition, the band has enlisted drummer Steve Vaughan who played in a previous incarnation of the band known as Iron Angel.
Abiura's Nursery Rhymes for the Unborn
Abiura's MCD "Nursery rhymes for the unborn" has been released, with 4 tracks of "obscure death metal " and is reviewed at Braindead Webzine.
Vesperian Sorrow
Displeased Records have announced that they have will release Vesperian Sorrow's latest album, "Psychotic Sculpture" on October, 12th 2001. The disc features 9 tracks of seasoned Blackened/Death Metal out there today.
Sanctifica Lives
Rumors that Sanctifica is no more are false. In fact, their website has gotten an overhaul and a new album is on it's way. The band are scheduled to begine recording October 12 with producer Carljohan Grimmark of Narnia (and also Saviour Machine). The album will bear nine new songs.
Sanctifica is also rereleasing theie old demo from 1998 this month, as a split CD with the band Pantokrator. This is Their next planned show is at Gårdsbandsfestivalen in Jönköping, October 12 at 23.10.
