Incubus Downs Korn

"Eddie" Action Figures
McFarlane Toys and Iron Maiden have worked out a deal to create and manufacture several likenesses of Eddie, Iron Maiden's indomitable mascot and heavy metal icon.
"Based on the artwork of the seminal 1981 Iron Maiden album Killers [pictured above], this action figure stands 6 1/2 inches tall, dressed in a rotting shirt and jeans, and armed with an ax. Eddie has eight points of articulation (neck, shoulders, biceps, waist and hips) and includes a custom base," said the McFarlane website, www.spawn.com.
McFarlane hasn't revealed the exact release date of the figure, but expect Eddie to be unveiled sometime in 2002.

Merciful Fate Lives
Despite the rumors, it seems that legendary Danish metallers Mercyful Fate are alive and well. According to vocalist King Diamond, the band has been working on new material, although given the frontman's commitment to his solo career for the first part of 2002, it may be some time before the Merciful Fate are reunited.

RIAA Strikes Internet Licensing Deal
It's being talked about like it's a big step, but it hardly seems like much of a concession for the companies that deal with online music much less for the consumer.
The RIAA announced a preliminary deal with music publishers Tuesday, paving the way for major labels to launch Pressplay and MusicNet — services that will essentially rent music to fans on the Web.
Though a final royalty structure hasn't been worked out, the Recording Industry Association of America will pay the Harry Fox Agency an advance of $1 million against future royalties, according to a statement issued by the RIAA. The Harry Fox Agency is the copyright licensing arm of the National Music Publishers' Association and represents 27,000 music publishers, who in turn represent more than 160,000 songwriters, the statement said.

Control Denied Update
Contrary to what is to being said elsewhere, Tim Aymar is still very much a part of Control Denied. Of course due to Chuck's current condition, the album "When Machine and Man Collide" has been postponed indefinitely. Chuck has already finished recording much of the guitar, and the drum tracks have been recorded, but the album is by no means complete.
