Rammstein Double Up

RAMMSTEIN will release a double CD, entitled Mutter Limited Tour Edition, on October 29th. The extra edition of RAMMSTEIN's Mutter album features alternative artwork and a bonus CD including live versions of "Ich Will", "Links 2 3 4", "Sonne" and "Spieluhr”.

Lullacry 2001

Finland’s LULLACRY have been nominated as Best Finnish Heavyband 2001 in Suosikki magazine. Suosikki is a big national music magazine in Finland. Finns can visit http://www.jippii.fi/suosikki/grandprix/ and vote for their favorites. In other news, LULLACRY will release their new video, for the track “Damn You” off their excellent Be My God sophomore effort, just before their upcoming European tour with EDGUY. Two different versions of the video will be available.

Metallica Does Something For The Fans?

METALLICA are currently working on “Fan Can 5” for their die-hard fans that will be able to get their hands on the package in the spring of 2002. Details are sketchy at the moment, but according to an update posted at the band’s official fan site at www.metclub.com, “we're finding some great live stuff from the early '80's in [drummer] Lars [Ulrich]'s attic and the early years will be the overall theme of the can”. More information will be available shortly.

GodFlesh Split With Bassist

GODFLESH have parted ways with Ben Green, bass player and co-founder of the band, who reportedly left the group in order to “go to university and pursue another career". The group’s upcoming European tour with FEAR FACTORY will still take place with Paul Raven (ex-KILLING JOKE, PRONG) filling in on bass.

Centinex Cancel Euro Tour

Centinex have confirmed that they will not tour in Europe with Extreme Noise Terror and Cadaver Inc during November and December. As the new album won't be out until January all touring activities have been postponed to the winter/spring 2002.

Nightwish Bassist Departs

Nightwish bassist Sami Vänskä has been replaced by Marco Hietala (Tarot, Sinergy). Spinefarm's Ewo Rytkönen has also been brought on board as manager and the band is currently arranging and rehearsing the songs for their next album.

Linkin Park Kick Off Last Leg of Tour

SonicNet is reporting that Linkin Park is getting ready to kick off their last leg of the tour in support of Hybrid Theory, and then intends to take a couple of months off before returning to the studio.

Between November 18 in Vancouver and December 6 in Seattle, the band will play shows with the X-Ecutioners, (hed)pe and DJ Z-Trip on the Countdown to Revolution Tour, the last gigs of the group's year-long road trip.

Site Update

The New Brighter and Lighter MU

In the span of a week, I got some feedback that metalunderground.com was too dark and sometimes hard to read. I even witnessed it on a computer or two, although the case was usually that the person had their brightness turned so far down that they could not see any dark shades anywhere. So I've taken some steps to lighten up the text a little to make it easier to read for more people. Let me know if it has helped or if it is still really dark and/or hard to read (but turn up your brightness first!). Now I just need to lighten up the logo to match a little better...
