Centinex Finish Diabolical Desolation
Centinex have finished the recording, mixing and mastering of their Candlelight Records debut "Diabolical Desolation" They expect a European release in January and American release in February.
Centinex will tour in Europe with Extreme Noise Terror and Cadaver Inc between November 17th and December 3d. Dates and locations TBA.

Bloodjinn Work On Sophomore
North Carolina metalcore act Bloodjinn are presently working on material for their second full-length album (first for Goodfellow Records).
Bloodjinn will enter South West Studios in Roanoke, Virginia to record their as-yet-untitled full-length with Chuck Crush. According to the band's website, www.bloodjinn.com, a producer may be brought in to oversee the recording, but so far nothing is confirmed.
As a result of writing for the record, Bloodjinn aren't expected to perform after November 4. The band will resume touring when the record is released sometime in early 2002.
The Chasm Prepare For Release
Mexican death metallers The Chasm are preparing to release a new EP, Reaching the Veil of Death, through their own label Lux Inframundis Productions.

Sirius Change Sound
Portuguese black metal band Sirius are working on the composition and structure of their next album. They are expected to radically change their sound on the coming album, to a something like Static-X, Strapping Young Lad, Fear Factory, Machine Head or even hints of Slipknot or Rob Zombie, mixed with electro-industrial components like Nine Inch Nails or Rammstein.
Sirius is expected to start recording their third album in January or February of next year.
Metallica / Newsted News
While Metallica looks ahead to a new studio album and awaits the release of a DVD on the making of the Metallica ('black') album on November 6, featuring new interviews, demos, archive and performance footage and commentary from producer Bob Rock, the band's former bassist Jason Newsted is keeping busy with his project EchoBrain, playing on/producing Voivod's album, and another CD he's producing for Speedealer called Second Sight. It's expected in the spring, as is Voivod's as yet untitled disc.
Eidolon Fills Vocal Slot
EIDOLON have filled the vocal slot, recently vacated by former singer, Brian Soulard. Drummer, Shawn Drover explains: "After several months of listening to various singers, and with careful consideration, we are happy to say that we now have a new vocalist. Pat Mulock, who resides in Toronto (the band’s hometown), will now take over vocal duties.

Growing Mayhem
Onesidezero have been tapped to open the second leg of the "A Night Of Merry Mayhem" Tour, which features Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie and Mudvayne. SOiL will open on all dates from October 31st through till December 06th, while Onesidezero will replace them beginning December 08th through till December 31st.

According to NOCTURNAL RITES bassist Nils Eriksson, the Swedish melodic metal gods “have a bunch of new songs and are in the middle of rehearsing them. The new stuff sounds like NR for sure, but as always, expect a few surprises...”
Napalm Death - The DVD
According to Kerrang!, NAPALM DEATH will release their first DVD, entitled NAPALM DEATH—The DVD, on October 15th through the Earache label. Containing a total of 58 tracks (!), including all the band's promo videos and two full live performances from 1990 and 1989, the DVD will also feature exclusive clips from the legendary 'Arena metal documentary and a “sing-along-a-NAPALM” feature which provides subtitles to the band's often unintelligible lyrics.

The second phase of JUDAS PRIEST’s The Remasters series is due for release between October 22nd and November 12th.

Satyricon Finishes Instrumentals
Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON have completed the instrumental recording of their new album at Denmark’s PUK Studios and have moved over to a Norwegian facility to record the vocals for the as-yet-untitled effort.
Meshuggah Who?
Based on estimates, Swedish tech-thrashers MESHUGGAH performed in front of 100,000 people during their recent US support slot with TOOL, 99% of whom had probably never had heard MESHUGGAH's music before.
Mudvayne Is Replaced
MUDVAYNE have dropped off the Pledge Of Allegiance tour due to “personal reasons” (rumored to be substance abuse-related). As a result, AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE will join the tour earlier than originally planned and NO ONE will stay on for the entire trek. An official announcement is expected shortly.

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN touring keyboardist Derek Sherinian (ex-DREAM THEATER, ALICE COOPER) has issued the following apology to the people of Brazil following his remarks that were posted here yesterday: “This is an open letter to the country of Brazil."

We're Ba-ack!
It looks like internet connectivity was restored a little before midnight last night... The up side of all of this is that 1) we should have a shit-load of news to post today and 2) I got the chance to do some back-end database work on the site while everything was quiet.
