Hammerfall Releasing DVD
Swedish power metal sensation Hammerfall reportedly have a follow-up to The First Crusade video coming out on DVD.
Here is the rest:
"The response to The First Crusade was overwhelming, so we have begun putting together a sequel in the same spirit; chronicling the more important events from September 1998 to the fall of 2001 with a (hopefully) tongue-in-cheek atmosphere," said guitarist Oscar Dronjak on the Hammerfall website. "The good thing is that we have had video cameras present almost constantly since October 1998, so there is much to choose from."
Dronjak continued to talk on scope of the DVD and the sheer amount of footage Hammerfall will have to edit through in order to complete the project: "We simply have too much footage! A severe axing of the less interesting parts will have to take place, ensuring that the remaining material is entertaining for the viewer and not just for ourselves. That's why we have hired the assistance of a video production company to help put together the release from an outsider's point of view. Originally, we wanted to put the VHS/DVD in the stores before Christmas, but the deeper we got into the project, we realized that this goal would be nearly impossible to achieve without compromising the quality of the release. And that is something we just will not do!"
In similar news, Hammerfall, in a very KISS-like move, are no longer wearing their stage outfits. Dronjak said the band wants to look to the future and are very anxious to work on the follow-up to Renegade, which currently is scheduled for a fall 2002 release.
Hammerfall's as-yet-untitled DVD is slated for an early 2002 release on Nuclear Blast.
