Paralydium To Release Debut Album In May

Continuing in their ongoing quest to release albums by the most inventive and exciting prog musicians they can find, Frontiers Music Srl is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of "Worlds Beyond," the debut album by Swedish quintet Paralydium. Fans can get a first taste of what to expect from this innovative new band in the form of a single entitled "Finding The Paragon."

It is fair to say that there are few acts who can or will match Paralydium's delivery of melodic, rhythmic and powerful songs. "Worlds Beyond" will showcase this very claim.

Initially known as The Paralydium Project, the band is an epic progressive metal combo founded by guitarist John Berg with a vision to create an innovative mixture of hard hitting heavy riffs,
textured landscapes and powerful grooves. Their sound takes you through space and time for an
experience beyond the borders of your mind. With influences ranging from Symphony X and Pagan’s Mind to Seventh Wonder and Dream Theater, Paralydium have created their own sound and expertly crafted melodies into a ‘best of both worlds’ sound. More...

"Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and public reaction to the spread of Coronavirus, Saxon have had to, with deep regret, postpone the three UK shows planned this month in Glasgow (March 27th), London (March 28th) & Manchester (March 29th)."

To keep the bands fans and everyone else involved with the shows safe at this time, the shows have been postponed to the following dates:

Saturday August 8th – Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom
Saturday September 5th – London Eventim Apollo
Sunday September 6th – Manchester O2 Apollo

All tickets will remain valid for these revised show dates.

Biff Byford "We are TRULY sorry for having to make this announcement to postpone the SOLD OUT shows in Glasgow & London and almost Sold Out Manchester show, but with all that is happening right now, we had no choice. To keep everyone in good health is our No1 priority – as should be everyone’s – and this coupled with the governments recommendation to curtail public gathering’s, the borders closed to get our production and personnel to UK and the fact the Eventim Apollo is closing it’s doors until at least the end of March all went to make playing the shows at the end of next week impossible. PLEASE keep your tickets for the new show dates and lets all fight this problem we are faced with together. Stay well and Stay Safe and see you all in August & September."

Crimson Shadows Posts New Music Video Online

Canadian epic power metal/melodic death quintet Crimson Shadows have returned with their powerful new digital EP, "The Resurrection," out now via Napalm Records. The EP features a reimagining of the band’s 2007 track, "Betrayed By Thy King," as well as blistering covers of Stratovarius’s "Against The Wind" and Dragonforce’s "Blackfire". This marks the new age of Crimson Shadows!

The band has revealed a brand new, historically-inspired video for the reimagining of their own track "Betrayed By Thy King" – a scorching, breakneck power metal burner.

Vocalist Jimi Patrick Maltais says about the video concept and track:
"The subject matter of the song is about a general in an army being betrayed by his king. The reason for the betrayal is that the king has gone mad and views his greatest general, who has always been loyal, as a threat. It takes influence from Game of Thrones and the blockbuster movie Gladiator." More...

Amaranthe Begins Recording New Album

Sweden's finest modern metal heroes Amaranthe have entered the studio in Denmark to start working on the recording of their new album - just one hour before the Danish borders were closed!

The band, now in quarantine, states: "By now, some of you know that we will start the recording of our new album today, Monday 16th March. It is an odd feeling to continue operations while large parts of the world are on lockdown, and the music industry is suffering greater than most other businesses - but we find it extremely important to soldier on, as we refuse to be beaten by this disease. It also means that we are effectively isolating ourselves, as everyone should as much as possible. We were set to travel to the studio on Sunday 15th, but as the Danish government decided to close their border with only a few hours notice, we had to make a very sudden and daring escape from Sweden into Denmark, ending up at an utterly deserted Copenhagen train station about one hour before the lockdown. We were quite literally the only ones making our way INTO the country, while everyone else was trying to get OUT.

"As you can no doubt imagine, people think that we are mad. Many of you are now in voluntary or involuntary isolation, and we will try our best to entertain you with regular updates from the studio! The album, already in this early phase, is something we feel incredibly strongly about, and we think you will no doubt know what we mean when you get to hear it later this year. Stay safe, wash your hands, keep your distance from the elderly and the sick - spread the love, not the virus!"

Amaranthe will update their fans daily about what's happening in the studio, so check their social channels to stay up to date!

Abysmal Dawn Premiere New Single

Abysmal Dawn‘s new single “Soul-Sick Nation” has landed as the third and final cut ahead of the forthcoming April 17th release of the group’s new record “Phylogenesis“. This song features guest solos performed by Fredrik Folkare (also Unleashed/Firespawn).

Comments vocalist/guitarist Charles Elliot:

“This is a super heavy and groovy one. It’s the first time we’ve used 7 string guitars and the first time we’ve tuned to A standard. Lyrically the song deals with inner demons and the mental health epidemic. Something that has touched so many people in my life, including myself.

“On a more uplifting note, the song features three ripping solos. One from our very own Vito Petroni (solo #2), and two from Fredrik Folkare (solos #1 and #2) of Unleashed and Firespawn!

It was a great honor to have Fredrik play on our record; he’s an absolute beast of player. We played some shows in South America in late 2018, and asked him to play on our record after a night of drinking probably too much Pisco. So happy it worked out because he laid down something truly special. Enjoy!”
