Visions Of Atlantis Posts New Acoustic Video

Symphonic Metal marvels Visions Of Atlantis have just released a bittersweet, bewitching acoustic version of their single “Nothing Lasts Forever”, along with a beautifully conceptualized music video.

This stunning new offering is a "Thank you" from Visions Of Atlantis to their fans for the massive support in response to their recent GoFundMe campaign, as well as all of the warm regards and additional encouragement received after they’d been forced to interrupt their US tour.

Although they are spread out over different countries, the symphonic quintet has united their powerful musical expertise to record this sonorous acoustic piece. Dark Tranquillity Begins Recording New Album

Swedish death metal legends Dark Tranquillity has announced that they have begun recording their next studio album, their first since the 2016 release, "Atoma." A statement posted on the band's official Facebook reads as follows:

Cult Of Lilith Signs With Metal Blade

Icelandic quintet Cult Of Lilith are the latest artists to sign with renowned heavy metal record label, Metal Blade, the company has confirmed.

Cult of Lilith comments: "We are beyond happy to announce this signing with a label which has influenced generations including us. It is an honor to be mentioned among the legendary bands on the roster. We're certain this relationship will be a fruitful one and we cannot wait for our next steps with the band and for the album release."

Metal Blade Records USA A&R Ryan Williams adds: "When Dave Otero, the mastermind engineer behind some of our greatest albums from bands like Cattle Decapitation and Allegaeon sends over a new band for you to check out, you give it a solid listen. Iceland's Cult of Lilith was that band, and having been mixed by Dave, it immediately hit my ear as not only another great mix from him, but a superb death metal album that stood out as intense and professional in a way that fits perfectly with our roster! Today I am happy to welcome Cult of Lilith to the Metal Blade Family."

After releasing an EP in 2016 and instantly gaining attention in the local music scene of Reykjavík, Iceland, Cult of Lilith's founding member, guitarist Daníel Þór Hannesson, put together a full line-up of the band shortly thereafter. Collectively, they all have the same goal: to create challenging and extreme music with an artful image to go along with it.

Fans can expect Cult of Lilith's Metal Blade Records debut in 2020.

Dave Hill and Mysticum

I live in a rural town, a five-hour drive from any city big enough to have bands travel to on tours. However, I work in Europe in summers and get my metal fixes at festivals nearly every week I'm there. June until August are my concert months. The rest of the year I prepare for these pilgrimages by listening to the bands playing at next year's festivals.

Back in November, Brutal Assault announced that Mysticum would be playing in 2020 so I started listening to them. They quickly became a favorite and easily cracked my top ten list of bands I've never seen that I want to see live. There was something about their name that seemed familiar even though I thought I had never heard of them previously.

Then, this morning, a friend sent me a link to the podcast below. I've listened to this podcast a couple of times before. Each time I laugh more than the prior listening. And, back to my story, I was reminded of where I first heard of Mysticum.

Enjoy! More...
