Exciter Announces Latin America Tour

Exciter will return to Central-South America in April & May for a tour that will see the band stop in Brazil, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, & Mexico. Drummer/vocalist Dan Beehler comments, "We’re looking forward to pounding metal with our brothers & sisters in Latin America, the wildest maniacs on the planet! See you in the pit!."

Machine Head Announces Australian/NZ Tour Dates

American metal veterans Machine Head has announced that they will be embarking on a string of shows in Australia and New Zealand this September. A statement from the band reads as follows:

"Aussie, Aussie, Aussie... Oi, Oi, Oi!! Head Cases of Australia / New Zealand! Starting September 12th, join Machine Head for 3 hours of metal mayhem, beers, good times, life-affirming sing-a-longs, and raging circle pits. Building on our wildly popular ‘An Evening With…’ format, these not-to-be-missed Machine Fuckin' Head shows will be a three-hour musical extravaganza, comprised of two parts:

"Part I - will feature a battery of Machine Head’s modern classics, such as ‘Imperium,’ ‘Halo,’ and, ‘The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears,’ featuring frontman/guitarist Robb Flynn and bassist Jared MacEachern performing alongside Vogg (Decapitated) and Matt Alston on guitar and drums.

"Part II - will feature the Bay Area band’s classic debut album, Burn My Eyes played in its entirety for the first time ever with Burn My Eyes-era alumni and Machine Head’s original drummer Chris Kontos and original guitarist, Logan Mader.

In Flames Signs Worldwide Deal With Nuclear Blast

Celebrating their 30th anniversary as a band, Sweden’s influential and long revered heavy metal giants In Flames have entered a worldwide partnership with Nuclear Blast for the band’s celebrated back catalogue which features 13 groundbreaking fan-favourite records like "Colony" 1999), "Whoracle" (1997) and "Clayman" (2000). Having released the previous two albums 'Battles' and 'I, The Mask' with Nuclear Blast in Europe only, this marks the first time In Flames has worked with Nuclear Blast worldwide since the release of "Soundtrack to Your Escape" (2004).

In Flames vocalist Anders Fridén states:
"We’ve been working with Nuclear Blast for our entire career in some sort of capacity, so it was only fitting to sign with them worldwide when we could. We’re excited for our future together which adds to a successful past."

Nuclear Blast states:

Thy Despair To Release Debut Album In May

Rockshots Records has announced their latest signing; Kiev, Ukraine's Thy Despair for the release of their forthcoming album "The Song Of Desolation" due out on May 8, 2020. The dark metal band blends black, gothic, doom, symphonic and melodic death elements into their sound along with vocals being sung in both English and Ukrainian. Today they are sharing with fans the first single off the full length "Free One." You can check out the song, "The Free One" below.

Thy Despair's new album "The Song of Desolation" follows the band's 2018 debut EP "Free One". Some of the album's lyrics are influenced by the war in eastern Ukraine. "It is a great tragedy for the nation and the main idea of these songs is that you should always fight back and keep freedom in your heart and mind. Lyrics of other songs are inspired by local legends or life experience." says band founder Nephilim.

The album as a whole features 10 tracks each with its own tale to tell and a statement that unites all of them together.

Nephilim adds: "Even when everything goes extremely bad, you should still stay strong, struggle and hope for the best, otherwise you won’t survive or will turn into a backboneless slave." More...

Gotthard Cancels Album Release Show

Due to the ongoing concerns around Coronavirus, Gotthard have been forced to cancel their upcoming release showcase. The showcase would have taken place on March 12th in Zurich´s Komplex Klub. The decision has been made following recent announcment's by the city of Zurich and due to the fact that some of the band´s crew members would have been coming from Milan.

But, the based Tessin rockers will not surrender! A solution has been found so that fans can still experience the band’s showcase in some form. Gotthard will play the planned show from their rehearsal room in Lugano, without an audience. The show is planned for Friday, March 13th, and will be streamed in it’s entirety at https://www.blick.ch/ and Blick TV in Switzerland from 12:00 CET!

For international fans, the stream will be available 14:00 CET on Gotthard´s official youtube channel and remain there for two full days until Monday, March 16th, 00:00 CET.

Une Misere Posts New Music Video Online

Icelandic wrecking crew, Une Misere, unleashed their full-length debut, "Sermon," last year via Nuclear Blast Records. Today, the band release the official music video for the track "Fallen Eyes" just in time for their US tour with headliners Thy Art Is Murder on the Human Target North American Tour 2020. You can check it out below.

Une Misere have had quite a year with three nominations at the Icelandic Music Awards 2020 in the following categories: 'Performer of the Year', 'Rock Album Of The Year' and 'Rock Song Of The Year', as well as two nominations at the Icelandic Listeners Awards for 'Album of the Year' and 'Rock Performer of the Year'. Metal Underground caught up with vocalist Jón Már Ásbjörnsson in London recently to discuss the album and more, which can also be seen below.

Swedish melodic power metal force Bloodbound returns a with a very special release, a new Mini Album which is dedicated to its ever-growing fanbase:

Titled "Bloodheads United," this new Mini LP (which will be available as 10” white Vinyl) contains four exclusive live tracks – all recorded at Bang Your Head festival 2017 – and on top of that, the brand new studio recording 'Bloodheads United', which is a true hymn dedicated to the Bloodbound fans who kept supporting the band over all these years.

"Our fanclub was named “Bloodheads”, that’s why it was obvious for us to include this into the song’s title. Also, it was the easiest way to show our gratitude and appreciation to those who brought us where we are today – our fans!," Bloodbound keyboardist Fredrik Bergh states.
