Naildown Part Ways With Keyboardist
Finnish melodic death/power metal band NAILDOWN has issued the following update:
"As some of you have might witnessed on our last two gigs, we pulled those shows without Jarmo [Puikkonen, keyboards] so it's time to tell the truth for everybody about the situation."
"NAILDOWN has parted ways with keyboard player Jarmo Puikkonen. No big drama here, just a 'little' different views of what being in a band actually requires."
"Us, the remaining Naildowners feel sorry that things were gettting into this point but there was no other way, this decision was best for everybody. However, this has NO effect on our live performances. We will continue without a keyboard player as long as we find the right person for the job. And if we don't find anyone by the next album's session, that's not a problem either since we are fully capable to handle keyboard tracks in studio by our own. So, we are gonna consider carefully before making anyone an official member of the band." More...

"We have also videotaped interviews with each band member for inclusion in some special edition versions that Massacre plans on releasing. There are no details as yet about that package, though.
"The Atarfe Vega Rock festival in Spain has been rescheduled to March 7 and 8, 2008, and we'll be playing on Saturday the 8th." More...

Konkhra Add Orchestral Arrangements To New Album
KONKHRA has issued the following update in the ongoing saga that is their next studio album:
"Just to let all know what's happening in our camp: we have decided to include some orchestral arrangements on the record. This will postpone the release a little, and some friends of ours already suggested that we change the name of the record to Chinese Hypocrisy. But, we will get it done. The video production for 'Hail To The King' is being planned as we speak, and if we get it done before the end of the year we'll be lucky. We are rolling out the tanks with this one, and the plans so far call for optimum timing. The producer thinks we should be able to be done around Xmas, but we'll probably premiere it around January."

Although it would be easy to let ourselves get down about this, we are using all of our energy to focus on a positive and full recovery for Ray. Please say a prayer for him or, if you don't pray, just think positive thoughts that he will come back to us.
Feel grateful for everything that you have. Your health, your family, the roof over your head, the computer you are looking at, the vision you have to read this right now. And don't forget to tell your family and friends how much you love them. Don't wait until tomorrow."

Velvet Revolver Bassist Talks Guns N Roses Reunion
Australia's News.com.au reports that VELVET REVOLVER's bass guitarist Duff says he's open to hooking up with GUNS N' ROSES again and, of course, Axl Rose — as as long as it's not too chaotic.
And he intends seeing Australia on a Harley-Davidson when his band tours next month.
Speaking to News.com.au's Qconfidential from a beachside bar in Maui where he ordered a cocktail during the interview, Duff said he and Slash had discussed a possible GUNS N' ROSES show.
"It would be a lot of fun as long as it was on a fun level and say just 10 shows to huge crowds," Duff said.
"But we're not really hanging around for a call or with our breath held."
Duff's more immediate focus is VELVET REVOLVER's show on December at the Brisbane Convention Centre.
The band has visas for their visit Down Under, unlike their tour of Japan which had to be cancelled because they were denied visas.
He was last here with the band a couple of years ago and surprised a number of locals, especially a three-piece cover band, when they turned up at the Victory Hotel on a Sunday night.
"Brisbane's an awesome place and I remember that pub and the people were really friendly," Duff said.
"Anywhere where there's sunshine and palm trees people are happy."
As for his love of Harleys: "We're going to get a couple of bikes and on our days off tour around country. It's better than staying in your hotel room."
Nightwish Announce Platinum Version Of New Album

On December 5th the band will release 'Erämaan Viimeinen' (Last Of The Wilds) as a single, only in Finland. 'Erämaan Viimeinen' is actually the instrumental 'Last Of The Wilds' off DPP, but with Finnish lyrics, courtesy of Jonsu (from the all-girl pop band INDICA, who are set to open for Nightwish across Scandinavia).

"Its been a bit quiet here on amoralweb.com lately, sorry about that! There haven't been that much going on after the tour (which was killer - see the tour blog for more on the subject). Everyone's kind of doing their own thing at the moment. It's been a long time since we last had a few weeks break. Some of us are gonna be abroad for a while, some of us are just chillin' at home taking it easy. I have the honor of being part of the annual Dimebag Beyond Forever Tour this year, eight gigs in tribute of the pink-bearded legend, with all the profits going to charity. So my time is spent on practicing Pantera songs at the moment, mostly. We have a couple of gigs coming up by the end of the year, and right after new years we'll continue to tour Finland. Now the Dallas-based alternative-metal band will have to overcome yet another challenge.
"It's not the way I wanted to kick off my holiday, that's for sure," said DROWNING POOL bassist Stevie Benton.
DROWNING POOL had just returned home after months of touring. The band arrived in Dallas Wednesday morning. That's when they discovered that much of their equipment had been stolen. More...

Download Rotting Corpse's 1985 Demo Online
The 1985 debut three-song demo cassette by Texas thrashers ROTTING CORPSE has been made available for download at the Bang! Bang! metal demo blog.
According to the blog post, "Formed by (then 'Diamond') Darrell Abbott's guitar tech Walt Trachsler and fellow PANTERA roadie Jim Mulqueen while their bosses were still pumping spandex in regional rock halls, the band also featured future SOLITUDE AETURNUS guitarist John Perez.
"This three-song tape purloins a LOT of choice riffs from EXODUS' 'Bonded by Blood', but that's not a bad place to start. Their zealous thrash energy can't be faked, and compared to a lot of excitable demo bands at the time, they can actually play — and keep a fast tempo together." More...

Comeback Kid Part Ways With Bassist Kevin Call
COMEBACK KID bassist Kevin Call has issued the following update:
“Well friends, the time has come for yet another member of the CBK crew to say goodbye. Currently, COMEBACK KID are about to play Berlin on what will be my last tour with the band. Life has called on me to go in a different direction - one that no longer involves playing bass guitar in COMEBACK KID. These past few years with this band have been the best years of my life. I’ve seen some amazing places, made some amazing friendships all over the world, and have grown so much as a result of playing in this band. I thank Andrew, Kyle, Jeremy, Scott, and Casey for giving me the privlege of creating music and performing worldwide with them. I also thank every person who has ever played a part in this band - whether you did a stage dive, bought a record, or put forth effort to make COMEBACK KID the band it is today. I wish the rest of the dudes the best of luck. We will be playing what will be my last shows in mid-December, including a show in my hometown of Minneapolis. So keep an eye out for those. Thanks. See you around.”
