Volbeat To Support Megadeth In Denmark

Danish metallers VOLBEAT will support MEGADETH on February 8, 2008 at KB Hallen in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Commented VOLBEAT frontman Michael Poulsen: "I have been big fan of MEGADETH since I was a teenager, and Dave Mustaine still inspires me as a songwriter.

VOLBEAT's latest CD, "Rock The Rebel / Metal The Devil", was named "Best Album" at the Danish Metal Awards 2007, which were held on November 17 at Amager Bio in Copenhagen, Denmark. The LP was recently certified platinum in Denmark for sales in excess of 30,000 copies. According to the band this marks the first time a Danish metal album has sold platinum in Denmark.

"Rock The Rebel / Metal The Devil" entered the Danish chart at No. 1 upon its release in late February and stayed in the Top 5 for three months.

VOLBEAT supported METALLICA on July 13 in Århus, Denmark.

VOLBEAT earlier in the year announced the addition of guitarist Thomas Bredahl from the punk rock combo GOB SQUAD to the group's ranks. GOB SQUAD supported VOLBEAT on their Danish tour in 2006.
