Majestica To Release Christmas Album

In 2019 the Swedish power metal heroes Majestica released their debut album "Above The Sky" and it became a huge success within the metal community. Now in 2020 they are back with not only a new album, but a special treat for their fans: a Christmas musical power metal album entitled "A Christmas Carol." It’s pure symphonic power metal in the true Majestica spirit along with elements inspired by the likes of Twilight Force, Rhapsody, Alan Silvestri, Danny Elfman and John Williams. The pre-sale of the album will start on October 23rd, along with the release of their first single.

What makes this a unique Christmas album is not just the inclusion of plenty of well-known Christmas songs, but also because the theme is the well-known story of Ebenezer Scrooge from the Charles Dickens novel “A Christmas Carol”. With many different voices for the many characters in the story alongside fitting music, people will not only hear a newly well-written power metal album, but also a power metal musical that gives you a unique Christmas feeling,.

Tommy Johansson states, "A silly dream of mine has finally come true. For many years I’ve wanted to release a Christmas album, because the atmosphere around Christmas is always so peaceful and music with a clear Christmas theme is always beautiful and very well-written. The reason why we chose to make a musical album with the story of Ebenezer Scrooge is very simple – it's a great story to tell around Christmas and it works so well as a musical. And with the help of different voice actors and singers we made it possible for this to happen - we’re very happy with the result.” In regards to their musical direction he adds, “Once again people can expect real power metal, but this time its a bit more symphonic and epic compared to our previous album Above The Sky. When it comes to the symphonic parts we’ve taken it a bit further and included a lot more orchestral instruments, including tubular bells, glockenspiel and sleigh bells to really get that Christmas sound to it." Scream At The Sky Posts New Music Video Online

Houston-based industrial metal act Scream At The Sky has unleashed their new video for the song, "Save Yourself." The video made its exclusive premiere on Metal Devastation Radio and can be seen below. Frontman Brian Carter commented about the video:

"The video is about addictions and breaking the common plague that infects millions of people every day. I wrote the song about a real life experience that I encountered when one of my closest friends called me and said they have a problem and didn't know how to save themselves.

"The video basically symbolizes a dialog between your drug addiction and your soul. It's your drug addiction saying "you'll never be saved." Then your soul is fighting back, saying "You can change this and you are worth saving."

"I actually wasn't even going to record this song on our first EP. I wrote the song and finished it in the studio when I asked my producer James Gelber (Hemlock) at the last minute if we could add this song. Being the bad ass that he is, he helped me bring this song to life making it one of my favorite songs to play live." More...

Unleash The Archers Shares New Lyric Video

In August, breakout Canadian melodic metal quartet Unleash The Archers dropped one of the most highly-acclaimed albums of 2020, "Abyss," sparking serious buzz in the metal and rock communities, and beyond. Deservingly, the conceptual benchmark scored banner praise from critics and fans alike, with Stereogum dubbing the opus "a ripper", and Bandcamp enforcing it as "a mandatory listen". Upon release, "Abyss" charted worldwide, debuting at the #1 spot on the US Current Hard Music and Top New ArtistAlbum charts, #4 and #8 on the US and Canadian Billboard Top 200 Hard Rock charts as well as on #21 in the German album charts.

Today, the band is following up on the album's successes by throwing fans a hefty bonus in the form of a new video for the post-drop fan favorite "Legacy" – one of Abyss' standout anthems. Searing in with breakneck blastbeats, cosmic guitar work and frontwoman Brittney Slayes' impeccable vocal delivery, the pop-tinged anthem single-handedly proves the band's position as one of this generation's premier heavy acts, bar none. The new video provides an introspective live-action backdrop to the track's conceptual lyrics.

Frontwoman Brittney Slayes explains:
"This song means a lot to us as a band, it's pretty different from everything that we've done before and really set the tone for the sonic exploration that is Abyss. When Andrew first brought the intro riff to us we immediately loved it, but we were a little hesitant as we felt our fans might not understand why we were choosing to include this style of track on the album. The hesitation was momentary though, as we all very quickly decided it was too cool not to continue writing, and luckily it seems like our fans have fallen in love with it as well. It's quite theatrical, and yet somehow very simplistic as well." More...

Death Angel Releases Surprise EP

Bay Area thrash giants Death Angel have surprised fans today with a remarkably unique rendition of rock legends Queen & David Bowie's iconic song "Under Pressure," that's featured on an unannounced digital EP of the same title out now on Nuclear Blast. The "Under Pressure" EP also includes a brand new original song, "Faded Remains," and two newly recorded acoustic versions of "A Room With A View" and "Revelation Song."

Vocalist Mark Osegueda comments on the song:
"The Under Pressure EP is something I feel that we needed to release during these very frustrating times...These are very heavy times...And although it’s an all acoustic EP, It’s heavy in a different sense of the word. And music is how we express ourselves best! These times will eventually pass and we shall all regroup and once again celebrate the other side of HEAVY that is the foundation of our truly fantastic Metal scene! Until then...Stay safe, healthy, and happy! I hope you enjoy!!"

Guitarist Rob Cavestany adds:
"What started out as simply expressing emotion through music as a cathartic reaction to the madness engulfing our world has turned into our first EP. Pure, raw and spontaneous, it’s also our first all acoustic release. Hoping this offering finds you well and brings warmth to your heart and soul. Together we shall overcome! Thank you for listening." More...

Epica Reveals New Album Details

Today, Dutch Symphonic metal giants Epica proudly announce the release of their new album "Omega," out on February 26th 2021 via Nuclear Blast. "Omega" is the bands first studio album in five years. Epica have also released the first single from the album, titled "Abyss Of Time," with an amazing accompanying video that was made in collaboration with Grupa 13. You can watch the video below.

Simone Simons comments: "Finally we can show you the video for our newest single 'Abyss Of Time'! We flew all the way to Poland to work with Grupa 13 for the first time. Shooting videos is one of my favorite parts of creating the visual side to our music. The costumes were insanely beautiful. It was so much fun and I hope that you like the video."

About the new album, Mark Jansen comments: "I am very proud of this album, as I am convinced we have written a very refreshing and well balanced album even after so many years of existence. Our strength is that we have many great songwriters in one band. We have managed to combine each other's strongest qualities and selected the best songs. It was a fruitful period of spending time together to work as one team on those tracks. I think this has made the biggest difference compared to our previous albums. Still using the advantages of comfortably sending files by the internet to each other but combining that with coming physically together again to work on all the tracks. I think I have listened to "Omega" about 50 times already and still can't get enough of it!"

The band also kick off the pre-order for "Omega", that will be available in the following formats:
- CD Jewelcase
- 2CD Digibook
- Earbook (48p Earbook incl. Bonus acoustic CD, orchestral CD & instrumental CD - limited to 3500)
- Vinyl-Box (incl. Earbook, PIC 2LP & hanger with Ankh symbol - limited to 1500)
- 2LP (various colors)
