Benediction Shares New Music Video

Today marks the release of "Scriptures," the 8th studio recording from death metal pioneers Benediction from Birmingham, UK. This is the first new album since 2008 (produced by Scott Atkins at Grindstone Studio in England. To celebrate the release the band has dropped a new video for the opening track "Iterations Of I."

Darren Brookes gives some insights about the track:
"The last song Dave Ingram featured on in Benediction was ‘I’. That was the last song on “Grind Bastard.” The first song on ‘Scriptures ‘ is this one, ‘Iterations of I’ and it’s a continuation of that song and therefore was put first on the new album. I guess it’s a bridge between the two eras of Benediction with Dave at the helm. Plus it’s a cracker to open with, it’s got all of Benediction`s trademark qualities in one song, from fast and brutal to slow and powerful."

The video was shot in an abandoned factory building in the outskirts of Sheffield, in the North of England. Directed by Dan Hart / Light Engine Films. More...

Employed To Serve Posts New Music Video Online

British metal outfit Employed To Serve has released a brand new single entitled "Party’s Over" via Spinefarm Records. You can check out the music video for the song below.

A band that knows no way to go other than hard, the message of the track is equally hard-hitting. ETS vocalist Justine Jones explains; "'Party’s Over' is about the fast decay of the unsustainable world we live in. Frustratingly, despite our best efforts, the quest for a sustainable way of living feels hopeless due to what humanity deems a birth right rather than a luxury. What we think we need in order to live just does not seem compatible with our eco system, making me feel like we’re aliens that have taken the planet hostage."

"Party’s Over" will be made available on red & blue 7” vinyl (limited to 500, never to be repressed), alongside a reworked version of "Harsh Truth" ft. Drew Dijorio of Stray From The Path

Unearthing Serpents of Secrecy

The gentlemen behind Baltimore’s doom rockers Serpents of Secrecy are set to release their highly anticipated debut release, “Ave Vindicta,” on Halloween. The effort is a tribute to the band’s late great bassist, the Reverend Jim Forrester, who was tragically murdered in 2017 outside of the tattoo shop at which he was employed. The band’s surviving members sidelined the creation of Ave Vindicta and the entire project at the time to cope with the gravity of the situation. More recently, the act—drummer Chuck Dukehart III, vocalist Mark Lorenzo, and guitarists Todd Ingram and Steve Fisher—reconvened to finalize the album which is a powerful blend of stoner swagger and dark doom heft.
