Interview With Terror Syndrome Drummer Ryan VP
The Internet has been an obnoxiously attractive platform for the success of many metal bands over the last few years. My Space, last.fm and YouTube have all helped shape what is widely known as the New Media Explosion, lending itself in large part to the dreadful emo-rock phenomenon. Where MySpace is concerned, several metal and hard rock bands writhe for a spot at the top of the most played charts, yet few have managed to actually impress anything new upon the genre. Terror Syndrome have, against all odds, broken through in only a few short months. The hype started in April of this year with some raw mixed Mp3s and quickly evolved into five full album-ready songs. After much growth and cohesion, Terror Syndrome average hundreds of hits per day and are prepared to release the ultimate metal album in the form of Stupidity For All…At least according to Devin Townsend drummer and Terror Syndrome founder, Ryan “RVP” Van Poederooyen. Criminal Launches YouTube Channel
Anglo-Chilean thrash masters CRIMINAL have launched an official YouTube channel at this location. The band has uploaded all of its official video clips (nine in total). The channel will be updated periodically with live videos, footage from the band's early days, video messages for the fans, etc.
CRIMINAL is currently writing material for the follow-up to "Sicario", the band's critically acclaimed last album, which was released by Metal Blade Records in late 2005.
Genitorturers Complete Work On 'Live In Sin' DVD
Florida-based "shock-rock" band GENITORTURERS, featuring MORBID ANGEL frontman David "Evil D" Vincent on bass, has completed editing its DVD, entitled "Live in Sin", to be released this fall by MVD Visual. More information will be made available soon.
GENITORTURERS will be holding auditions for a new touring drummer beginning mid-August. Interested persons should have a knowledge of the band's catalog and

Spoiler NYC Post 'Suicide Hotel' Video Online
Punk band SPOILER NYC, featuring LIFE OF AGONY bassist Alan Robert on lead vocals and bass, has released its video for the song "Suicide Hotel". The clip was shot on May 19 in New York with directors Dale "Rage" Resteghini and Kevin Custer of Raging Nation Films. Raging Nation has also directed music videos for such acts as CYPRESS HILL, SHADOWS FALL, MUDVAYNE, TRIVIUM, HATEBREED, UNEARTH, ILL NINO, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, FALL OUT BOY and HASTE THE DAY. SPOILER NYC recently signed a European deal with I Scream Records for the release of its debut album, "Grease Fire In Hell's Kitchen". The CD was issued in Europe on June 22 (SOS Records made the CD available in the U.S. on June 26).
"Grease Fire In Hell's Kitchen" was produced in part by Alan Robert and recorded and mixed by LIFE OF AGONY's Joey Z. at his Method of Groove recording studio in Brooklyn, New York. The 12-song album was mastered at Sterling Sound by acclaimed engineer UE Nastasi.

Ghost Brigade Post New Song Available For Download
A brand new GHOST BRIGADE track, entitled "Rails at the River", has been posted at this location. The track comes off the Finnish band's upcoming debut album, "Guided by Fire", due on September 17 via Season of Mist. The CD was recorded with the group's "house engineer" Mikko Poikolainen.
Regarding the band's musical direction, GHOST BRIGADE previously stated, "There are so many bands and artists that have influenced us throughout the years that I couldn't just pick a few and say we're a mixture of those. That wouldn't do the listener nor us any justice. We are influenced by anything that sounds good, be it older death metal, melancholic pop music or anything in between. So I guess we just collect little pieces along the way, put it all into a blender and the result is GHOST BRIGADE. To anyone who hasn't heard us, I'd say it's heavy, dynamic and metallic music filled with beautiful melodies and a fine dose of anxiety."

Classic British Metal Documentary Posted Online
In 1989, BBC2 television aired a five-part music genre documentary series in the UK called “Arena.” One of the episodes, “Heavy Metal,” featured live footage from Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Napalm Death, Motörhead, Slayer and others.
The production features no narration, instead relying on interview commentary and concert clips to place the viewer in the heart of the metal scene and elliptically tell the story of the genre.
Various scenes specifically delve into metal culture: a club full of kids, but no bands, mosh around a dancefloor to music broadcast on a PA; and a kid who couldn’t be more than 10 shreds out solos with more agility than most thrash metal veterans.
There are also straight-out humorous moments, like when an interviewer asks W. Axl Rose, “Do you have anything in common with Iron Maiden, and he replies without a pause, “I hope not.”

OVERKILL's jam-packed one-hour performance last night (August 2nd) on the Hellfest Stage at Wacken Open Air was filmed for a future DVD release.
Overkill's upcoming album Immortalis, will be released in October via their new deal with Bodog Music.

As I Lay Dying's New Title Track Streaming Online
Today, Friday, August 3, 2007, Metal Blade Records' AS I LAY DYING's title track off the band’s upcoming release, "An Ocean Between Us" will be made available for streaming on Metal Blade's site, the band's website, and on the label's and band's myspace pages. The band previously made "Within Destruction" available, and it is still available on the band's MySpace.

LIFE OF AGONY spent most of 2006 and early 2007 on a break after completing its successful touring cycle for the 2005 Epic Records release, "Broken Valley". The band is currently without a record deal, having parted ways with Epic in 2005. In the meantime, lead singer Keith Caputo released a solo album, titled "Heart's Blood on Your Dawn", and has a new CD on the way. Guitarist Joey Z has opened a recording studio in Brooklyn, NY called Method of Groove Studio and has successfully produced and mixed BRAND NEW SIN's latest release for Century Media. Joey has also teamed up with Peter Steele (TYPE O NEGATIVE) to reform CARNIVORE. Drummer Sal Abruscato has been actively building custom motorcycles and recently won an award for his latest creation.
Metallica And Slayer Confirmed For Guitar Hero III
METALLICA's "One", SLAYER's "Raining Blood" and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's "3's and 7's" are among the newly confirmed tracks for the upcoming Activision title Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
As previously reported, former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash will provide an original track for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, as well as make an appearance in-game as a boss battle character. The legendary guitarist will not, however, be easy to get to: In order to "unlock" Slash (who donned a motion-capture suit so game makers could track his every pluck), players will have to face him in a one-on-one shredding duel after completing all the songs in the game.
