Metallica And Slayer Confirmed For Guitar Hero III

METALLICA's "One", SLAYER's "Raining Blood" and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's "3's and 7's" are among the newly confirmed tracks for the upcoming Activision title Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
As previously reported, former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash will provide an original track for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, as well as make an appearance in-game as a boss battle character. The legendary guitarist will not, however, be easy to get to: In order to "unlock" Slash (who donned a motion-capture suit so game makers could track his every pluck), players will have to face him in a one-on-one shredding duel after completing all the songs in the game.

Did you ever consider that some of us play the REAL guitar AND Guitar Hero? I've been playing guitar for 7 years, but I still love me some Guitar Hero. It's a great way to introduce music and playing music to those who never would have discovered it otherwise, or couldn't afford it otherwise (being a musician isn't exactly a cheap hobby these days). The point is, maybe after playing Guitar Hero or something similar, kid "a" goes out and buys a real guitar and becomes a virtuoso like Malmsteen or Vai. The point is, don't knock someone for playing something you've probably never even tried, and if you did you probably sucked at it at first and gave up saying "this isn't like the real guitar you n00bs". Everyone sucks the first time, but it really is a lot of fun. I used to be a "holier than thou" person like that too, and I was reluctant to try it, but I finally did (it's hard to go to college and NOT get into Guitar Hero) and it was as awesome as everyone said it was. Let people do what they want, and keep your one-sided opinions to yourself.

To JANIS HENDRIX: If you complain that Guitar Hero is lame and nothing like real guitar, then why don't you go be a professional race car driver instead of playing racing games? Why don't you go pick up an M-16 and join the armed forces instead of playing a military game? Its a video game, a digital simulation of something in real life or made up. Guitar Hero is fun.
This is a superior song list in terms of both variety and (in some cases) difficulty. I don't own any of the GH games but I play them every other weekend at a friend's house.....Needless to say I'm not the best but I do alright. "The Light that Blinds" on expert still kicks my ass.

Pretty kick a$$ list, cant beleive slayer is finnally gonna get some recognition, i would have chose a track other the rb for this occasion though. It doesnt even have a solo in it, well random noise at the end. Maybe they will add something in though. One is gonna be amazing too, the solo will be straight death. I feel you on paint it black too oz, im not a stones fan but that is an amazing song. As far as dragonforce, it wont be that hard, mostly just fast strumming, no way will it be as hard as jordan on gh2.
