General Surgery recently posted an update on their much awaited follow up to acclaimed "Left hand pathology" and planned live appearances:
"Next up is Party-San in Bad Berka, Germany on Saturday August the 9th, and the weekend after that you can get your dosage of gore at the Brutal Assault Festival in Jaromer, Czech Rep. Our stage slots are still to be confirmed, we'll post them as soon as we know.
"Furthermore, we're getting closer to finishing the songs for the next album. We've got about 12 songs rehearsed, with 3 more written and ready to go. We'll keep on writing until the album sessions will start, so there might be around 20 songs to choose from for the album.
"This time, we're gonna shake things up a bit and work with a producer, namely the (in)famous Fred Estby of ex-Dismember fame. He'll be working with us in the studio, lending us a pair of very experienced ears, as well as during the pre-production phase so we can get a second opinion on the material.
"Sessions will commence in Offbeat Studio in the beginning of October.
"Some new song titles include Virulent Corpus Dispersement, Nephroblastoma, Carbonic Residue Conversion and Necrocriticism."
Here are the upcoming General Surgery live dates:
08-08-07/09 Germany/Bad Berka Party San Metal Open Air

Stigmata BC Signs To Debello Recordings
Debello Recordings recently announced the addition of hardcore band Stigmata BC their roster. Formed in Brandon, Florida in 2007, Stigmata BC consists of ex and current members of Khann, Legions, Bodies in the Gears of the Apparatus and Headvice.
Stigmata BC vocalist Joshua Vitale comments on the signing: "We are very proud to be working with Debello Recordings. Debello is one of those labels that I feel will come to be recognized as one of the more honest and truly DIY operations in hardcore and metal (think early Robodog, Level Plane, etc.) as the scene progresses into an even more diluted and bastardized state. We're very happy to find a home where one's integrity and taste in music takes priority over the ability to push units. Please look for our vinyl release out later this year- with neither side benefitting financially from this venture, we want to state that this release is for an amazing cause that both parties truly believe in. Thank you."
The group is slated to release a non-profit debut 7" EP with all proceeds going directly to the Vitas Hospice Charity Fund. The VHCF is non-religion-affiliated organization specializing in the embetterment of living conditions in end-of-life circumstances by assisting hospices and those who cannot afford medical attention who are terminally afflicted with cancer.
"The guys in Stigmata BC have proven themselves as a group of hardworking individuals promoting true compassion in a scene riddled with those seeking selfish ends," states Debello president Jean Wagner. He continues to say, "We've all lost loved ones to cancer. All parties involved in [the project] believe that this is the best way to improve the condition of life for those currently afflicted with the disease- at least until a cure has been discovered," to which he adds, "If this campaign is a success, I vow that Debello will continue similar operations for various other worthy causes in the future and hope that others will adopt the same notion. Please get involved."
Stigmata BC's debut effort is entitled "Addicted to Misery" and is due out Fall of 2008.

Level-C has slugged it out for years, playing shows and honing their craft, which makes their first international release even sweeter.

Level-C’s songs have matured through the process of playing live, which is where the group’s true energy and power shine through.

Napalm Death Enters The Studio
Legendary Brummie godfathers of grindcore Napalm Death have entered the studio to record the follow up album to 2006's "Smear Campaign."
Vocalist Mark “Barney” Greenway says: “As always, when trying to decide when we should enter the studio, we threw a dart at a dartboard and, sadly, for all our sanities’ sakes, it landed on a date which was sooner rather than later. It’s all working out good with about 10-12 songs complete thus far. It will be intense, naturally, and like always we’ll be looking to move things along a notch production-wise and stylistically. Conceptually, it will, generally speaking, be a tale of analyzing life and stripping it back to the point where I’m asking the question: why are we killing ourselves to get ahead and not appreciating the real simplistic, beautiful things around us? If that sounds hippy-ish, I don’t care, ha ha.” More...
