"Rigor Mortis vs. The Earth" Digipak Planned

Metal Mind Productions has announced details of the forthcoming Rigor Mortis deluxe digipak remaster release.

According to the press release: Combining thrash with hardcore and punk influences, Rigor Mortis remains one of the most prominent representatives of the crossover genre. Their third and so far final album, "Rigor Mortis vs. The Earth" is a prime example of shredding guitars, light-speed drumming and angry vocals all mixed up in one devastating thrash/punk assault. The first thing that catches the listener's attention is the flawless production, a few steps ahead of the one heard in the debut. The album is also much more varied than the previous offerings – Rigor Mortis finally surfaced their punk influences, with tracks such as "Throwback," "The Rack" or "SOG" being the best examples, next to the surprising cover version of The Ramones' song "Psychotherapy." The band, however, didn't forget about their thrash origin – songs such as the outstanding "Mummified," "Asphyxia," "Contagious Contamination" or "City in Fear" deliver a heavy blow that will be instantly loved by any heavy music enthusiast. What is interesting, the vocal duties are split between Doyle Bright, who sings all the thrash metal tunes and Casey Orr, who takes up most of the punk-oriented tracks. Despite what the given song is, however, all lyrics are concentrated on the same themes of violence, mayhem and intestines – just as on all of Rigor Mortis' past releases.

The remastered version of "Rigor Mortis vs. The Earth" will be available in a new digipak edition limited to 2000 numerated copies. The release date is scheduled for August 18, 2008 in Europe and September 30, 2008 in the USA (via MVD).

Here is Rigor Mortis' "Rigor Mortis vs. The Earth" reissue tracklisting: More...

Bleeding Through Sets Release Date For New Album

On September 30, Bleeding Through will unleash their latest album, "Declaration." According to the press release, "'Declaration' is heavier, darker, angrier, more pissed off, faster and more epic than anything in the band's already impressive catalog."

The followup to "The Truth" (2006) and "This is Love, This is Murderous" (2003), which have sold a combined quarter of a million albums worldwide, was produced by Devin Townsend in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Contrary to earlier reports of a conceptually driven album, Bleeding Through’s latest is their most diverse offering thematically, addressing a variety of topics on tracks like "There Was a Flood," "Germany" and "Death Anxiety."

Frontman and lyricist Brandan Scheippati has written one last song based on his angry heartbreaking muse, "Sister Charlatan," which closes the album and features the first ever vocal chorus contribution from virtuoso bass player Ryan Wombacher, who also co-wrote the experimental and dark "In Loving Memory of England." Keyboardist Marta is more present than ever throughout the music, including her directing of real strings and classical instrumentation.

"Declaration" is also the first album featuring guitarist Jona Weinhofen, who joined the band over a year ago after the breakup of his former group, I Killed The Prom Queen.

Bleeding Through is on tour with Bullet For My Valentine throughout the US and will support them in Europe through December as well.

Bleeding Through recently had a special edition of "The Truth" release, entitled "The Complete Truth." This deluxe version contains the full album "The Truth," plus unreleased bonus songs and a DVD of a full live show, professionally filmed on tour with Marilyn Manson and Slayer in the Summer of 2007.

Black N Blue Reunion Moves Forward w/ Fest Dates

BLACK ‘N BLUE has launched a reunion in 2008 featuring four original members in Jaime St. James (vocals), Jef “Woop” Warner (guitar), Pete Holmes (drums), and Patrick Young (Bass). The four members are joined by second guitarist, Shawn Sonnenschein, who has been in the fold since 2003 when the band had played a few dates. Sonnenschein is the replacement for original guitarist, Thommy Thayer, who is currently in KISS.

The band was reactivated earlier this year after St. James departure from Warrant. “My 4 years in Warrant were awesome. I made some lifetime friends and will always cherish that time in my life. That being said, it feels so good to sing the great Black ‘N Blue tunes again,” St. James says.

The band played this year’s Rocklahoma Festival earlier this month. In addition, the band has also been added to the main stage at the Rock the Bayou Festival in Houston on Labor Day Weekend where they are scheduled to perform on Sunday, August 31. Further show announcements are expected in the coming weeks. There is also a plan to tour the UK and Europe in early November, with further information to be announced shortly.

In addition to the shows, Black 'N Blue will also hit the studio in the coming months to complete the long awaited released, "Hell Yeah!" Plans for its release will be announced later this year.

You can check out some of the band's material on their official MySpace page.
