HOD In The Studio Working on Debut Album

San Antonio, Texas-based extreme metal band HOD will release their debut album on Ibex Moon Records sometime in early 2009.

The band, comprised of members from Necrovore, Thornspawn, Exulcerate and Pillcrusher, is currently in the studio working on their debut, titled "Serpent."

HOD guitarist Lord Necron issues the following update: "We have started work on the recording of our debut album for Ibex Moon Records. We are working with Stuart "BatLord" Laurence for the recording. Stuart has recorded many Texas metal bands over the years such as Thornspawn, Averse Sefira, Death Of Millions and so on. Stuart knows metal since he too has been in many bands over the years, including Agony Column and his present band Ignitor. I can tell you the recording has a very dark and brutal edge to it. The songs appearing on the record will be:

Victims
Serpent of the Nightmare Empire
Harbinger of Death
Black Rites
Demoralizer
Nine Days
God Of Darkness and Winter

"It is definitely a leap forward from our demo. We plan on unleashing this beast sometime early next year."

Nominon's Drummer Parra Talks About U.S. Tour

NOMINON, the Swedish death metallers who recently embarked on their first US tour in July with label mates QUINTA ESSENTIA, had lots of good things to say about their experience. From drummer, Parra:

"USA....You guys fucking RULE!!! Our infernal voyage in USA was nothing but a pure success. We played nine shows in two weeks and managed to play a different setlist at each and every show, which surprised quite a few fans. Of course we would like to say thanks to a bunch of people, these following labels, bands and people in general; *Evan and Deathgasm Records* for the eternal support, you fucking rule man!! *QUINTA ESSENTIA*, you guys made this tour one of the smoothest rides for us so far...Beer drinking and Hellraising motherfuckers, just like us. *Matt and Central Illinois Metalfest* for booking NOMINON, wish things will work out for ya so there will be a fest even next year, you deserve nothing but the best. *John and IbexMoon Records.*, *Alex* for letting us use the van, it meant a lot to us. *INCANTATION*, you sickos are definitely some of the coolest Metalheads alive. *Tomas Pascual* of NYDM and *DUFF's Brooklyn*. *Steveggs* for all the photos and crazy, yet good times. *Kenny* for buying the whole band like 100's of beers at the C.I.M. You amazed us all.

"There's plenty of other promoters and grotesque freaks that we would like to say Thanks and Hell-o to right now, but you guys will be mentioned on the next album, for sure.

"Worth mentioning also is that during the last show in Nashville, Tennessee, NOMINON celebrated their 100th show!! Death metal country....HELL YEAH!!! "

NOMINON's third album, "Terra Necrosis," was released August 21, 2007 by Ibex Moon/Deathgasm Records.

Oceano Banned From US Clubs Over Brutal Photos

Chicago, IL deathcore band, OCEANO have already had a set of raw and masochistic photos banned from MySpace and the band is now being banned from several clubs around the country, due in part to those very photos.

Thanks to the overwhelming hysteria surrounding OCEANO's controversial promo pictures, a large number of messages have been pouring into the band's MySpace page from clubs across the country. Here's an example: "It has been brought to our attention that there were some images of the band that were banned from myspace. Because we are an all ages, family friendly venue we pride ourselves on providing a positive atmosphere for the kids that come in to see shows. Jason Bonham Quits Foreigner, Working With Led Zep

Blabbermouth.net reports: The eight-minute audio interview with drummer Jason Bonham conducted this past Friday morning (August 22) by the "JJ & Lynne" morning show on the 94.7 WCSX station in Detroit, Michigan is available for download as an MP3 file at this location. During the interview, Bonham revealed that he is leaving FOREIGNER at the end of this month and that he has been jamming with LED ZEPPELIN Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones.

Jason, who was born in England and now lives in Florida, said, "I've been over [to England] a couple of times. I've been working with Jimmy and John Paul and trying to do just do some new material and some writing. I don't know what it will be, but it will be something. . . At the moment, all I know is I have the great pleasure to go and jam with the two guys and start work on some material. When I get there, I never ask any questions. If I get a phone call to go and play, I enjoy every moment of it. Whatever it ends up as, to ever get a chance to jam with two people like that, it is a phenomenal thing for me; it's my life, it's what I've dreamed about doing."

Jason added, "My time with FOREIGNER is coming to an end. This is the first time I've talked about it. I leave at the end of this month . . . I'm looking forward to taking some time out to be with the family really. Since I moved to America I've been on the road, so my first priority is to go and watch my kids grow up, because they've grown up way to fast in the last four years."

"I had a barbecue at my house in Fallbrook after service on Sunday and met some of Pam's new friends, and got ready for something that I never thought I would do in my life. That is my adult life. But first comes Monday - a dreadful day for me.

"I have been struggling with my back for some time, and have been doing yoga, stretching, acupuncture, faith healing, "laying" on of hands, injections, chiropractic, and everything else you can imagine. Two years ago, almost, I went out to my friend in Ohio and went to the OSU Medical center and had MRI's done on my neck and spine for 1 3/4 hours. More...
