Blabbermouth.net reports: The eight-minute audio interview with drummer Jason Bonham conducted this past Friday morning (August 22) by the "JJ & Lynne" morning show on the 94.7 WCSX station in Detroit, Michigan is available for download as an MP3 file at this location. During the interview, Bonham revealed that he is leaving FOREIGNER at the end of this month and that he has been jamming with LED ZEPPELIN Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones.

Jason, who was born in England and now lives in Florida, said, "I've been over [to England] a couple of times. I've been working with Jimmy and John Paul and trying to do just do some new material and some writing. I don't know what it will be, but it will be something. . . At the moment, all I know is I have the great pleasure to go and jam with the two guys and start work on some material. When I get there, I never ask any questions. If I get a phone call to go and play, I enjoy every moment of it. Whatever it ends up as, to ever get a chance to jam with two people like that, it is a phenomenal thing for me; it's my life, it's what I've dreamed about doing."

Jason added, "My time with FOREIGNER is coming to an end. This is the first time I've talked about it. I leave at the end of this month . . . I'm looking forward to taking some time out to be with the family really. Since I moved to America I've been on the road, so my first priority is to go and watch my kids grow up, because they've grown up way to fast in the last four years."

Well I mean in my book Led Zep do not need to do anything else, what they did is perfect, legendary and I would hate it if they got something out that was sub par for them. I mean they are so freaking great. Don't do a Metallica on us please !!!

Great point. I suppose it would be best just to leave it alone and let sleeping dogs lie, so to speak. Recording anything new may spoil their good name.

I hope they don't record anything else.... but maybe I do: I can't get the taste of "Page playing with Puff Daddy" out of my mouth.... uuhhhhgggg horrible. already ruined the sh**ty legacy. Listen to DEEP PURPLE, they are better than Zep anyday.

I bet this was a pretty damn easy decission for Jason to make! I am glad that he is taking the reigns for his Dad. It couldnt be done properly by anyone else.

I see a new Zep album...

Red, I really doubt they're gonna suck. Jason obviously has enough love and respect for his father not to let himself go into a direction that is unlike Led Zeppelin. With that, I doubt they're gonna pull a Metallica.

For a moment there I really thought I said that they would suck but no I said sub par...that would have been a shame on my part. I am sure that they can't suck, I mean these guys are absolutely fantastic but I dunno if they really need to make new music, I mean they have put out some of the best music of all time out there, they have nothing to prove. I am just afraid that it is not going to be as good as it could be or was before...I just respect them so much

Well Red, only time will tell if Jason and the rest of the band can pull it off. I am giving all benifits of the doubt and happy for this. If in fact it does such *knocks on wood* then it will be sad. If its awesome then I am going to be elated!

It's just like Metallica what they do now doesn't tarnish the music they did before but it does tarnish the legend and the guys themselves...

Hey I love Status Quo! What's your favourite song?

As far as a Led Zep with Jason album goes. I'd love to see it come to fruition but I don't think they should use the Led Zeppelin name. Maybe do a Black Sabbath and name the project after a Led Zep song but I think to put a new Led Zeppelin album out now wouldn't do the legacy of the band justice and it's really not needed.

I was planning to go see Foreigner at the end of October. Jason Bonham on drums was the biggest reason. I may have to rethink that plan. I hadn't bought tickets yet. I wonder who will be replacing him?

As for Led Zeppelin, I think it would be awesome if they released a new album. You never know, it could be better than anything they've ever done before. I'm not sure about doing it without Robert Plant though. If he doesn't jump on board it wouldn't be the same.

I suppose they could find a replacement for him like so many other bands have been doing lately. I did see a Led Zep cover band last year and the singer's voice was a dead ringer for Plant's.

I guess we'll have to wait and see where this leads, but I'm excited about the prospect.
