Riot Act Reveals Debut Album Details

The debut album from Riot Act, the band initially formed by former 'classic era' Riot members Rick Ventura and Lou Kouvaris is titled "Closer To The Flame" which is sure to please fans of the late ‘70s, early ‘80s era of Riot as well as fans of Montrose, Rival Sons, The Black Crowes, Tesla and fans of classic hard rock everywhere.

The album will also come with a 12 track bonus CD of classic Riot tracks recut, these recordings feature the final ever recordings of Lou Kouvaris, who tragically passed away of Covid-19 in early 2020.

Guitarist Rick Ventura: "Hoping to make some noise with our new video ‘Stand Or Fall’, a good ol' rocker that basically tells you to stand up for what you believe in or be cast off into the ether."

Vocalist Don Chaffin: "Very excited to release the new ‘Stand Or Fall’ video, this one has some elements that remind me of AC/DC and the The Cult….straight ahead rock that makes you want to move and still has that Riot Act signature sound to it …. and yes, of course more cowbell!" More...

Åskväder Shares New Single

Sweden‘s Åskväder shares the fourth and final single from their upcoming sophomore album ”Fenix". ”Zealot” is a punchy and direct track with a driving drum beat and electrifying melodies. The single is a true outburst of garage rock energy, recorded live in studio. Martin from the band comments on the single:
”Zealot was a really tough one to record, definitely the song that took the most amount of takes to get right. The inspiration for writing the track came from listening to a podcast about the band Enforcer. To put it short, this track is Åskväder‘s take on speed metal. The lyrics describe how life can change quickly for the little man depending on circumstances that are bigger than ourselves, and how we have to follow the rules of the system fanatically.”

Åskväder‘s sophomore album ”Fenix” will be released on The Sign Records on March 25. The single ”Zealot” is out on all streaming platforms from February the 18th. More...

Fall Europa Unveils New Music Video

Progressive metal act Fall Europa have released their reflective new single, "Dolos (The Second Self)." The music video explores the shallow viewpoints of TV shows and their disregard of mental health, and is taken from their upcoming EP, "King Pariah," due 13th May 2022. You can check out the video below.

Vocalist Taylor Ludlow comments on the inspiration for the single:

"The song is about understanding and accepting the fact that we are all fighters battling our own internal struggles. Sometimes for me it almost feels as if I am sharing my mind with an enemy. In Greek mythology Dolos is the spirit of trickery, so I settled on that name for the trespasser in my mind. One of my close family members was about to take her own life and was talked out of it, so there's a lot of pain in this song. I see beautiful people hating themselves and it hurts my heart; one of our songs was eventually going to be about this, I see it so much.

"I want it to guide people to the idea that even though this war is never ending, you will never give up and to take pride in what we are; fighters. Understand that some of us are better at fighting than others and there is much we can learn from one another. I see this song as one of many weapons in this never ending war against what I call, the second self." More...

Bloodywood Shares New Music Video

Put down your morning coffee, New-Delhi arena metallers Bloodywood are about to kick so hard they fire you into the weekend. To celebrate the release of their debut album "Rakshak" (out today!), the band are elated to present the music video for their heaviest song ever, "Dana Dan."

'Dana Dan' begins with the thudding of the South Indian 'Nagada' drums, before the razor-sharp rapping of Raoul Kerr comes in then gives way to the ferociousness of vocalist Jayant Bhadula. Here the entire band are firing on 11 to produce their most sonically thrilling track yet. There's going to be some crazy pits when the band play this one live...

Speaking about the new single, Bloodywood say: "'Dana Dan' is a graphic commentary on sexual assault and the need to eliminate it. It begins with the reflexive, almost homicidal rage we feel when we hear about these crimes, before moving on to a more level headed call to arms. It culminates in a gentle appeal for all of us to reflect on the role we play in creating a world where atrocities of this nature are committed and to work towards eliminating it altogether." Skull Fist To Release New Album In April

The Fist is the law! Toronto based heavy metal high-flyers Skull Fist are more balls and ambition than is legally allowed. Since their steely inception back in 2006, dungeon keeper Zach Schottler and his shredding band of reckless companions have released three classic heavy metal almanacs, have eaten more dust than is good for their health, have endured various hardships (henceforth called shitty business partners) and countless beers at countless bars in countless cities. But now, after 15 years of metal and mayhem, Zach Schottler is coming into his own with the proverbially titled "Paid In Full," a heavy metal wonder of the defiant middle finger variant. With heads held high, empty pockets and enough gas to make the next show, Skull Fist have just won 2022. Don’t mess with the Fist.

"Paid In Full" will be released on April 22, 2022 via Atomic Fire Records.

Mastermind Zach Schottler comments:
"Im stoked on this new record, We worked a lot harder on this one than the last one and I think the tracks have some of the spark shit that chasing and head of the pack had. Anyways, I am obviously biased so well wait and see what all of you think, I'm interested to see that"

See for yourselves. Skull Fist present to you the first single release "Long Live The Fist." You can check out the video below. More...
