Master's Call Signs With Fireflash Records
Master's Call are a force of heavy metal blackened by death from The Black Country, UK - the birthplace of Heavy Metal itself. Their debut EP entitled "Morbid Black Trinity" released in 2019 and was universally well received from the press and metal community worldwide, picking up positive reviews in magazines such as Kerrang, Metal Hammer and Zero Tolerance. With invites to perform at the likes of Hard Rock Hell Metal, Incineration Festival, Northern Darkness Open Air, Hammerfest, Odyssey To Blasphemy (DE) and even a headline slot on Bloodstock Open Air's "New Blood Stage,” the band is proving itself as a visceral dark force in the live scene, despite only a single EP release thus far.
Today, Master's Call announce the signing with Fireflash Records (Holy Moses, Mystic Circle a.o.). "We are honoured and proud to be partnering with Fireflash Records for the next chapter in our journey! We love the passion Markus has shown towards our music and our story- with his extensive industry experience and our unrelenting drive, this journey together will truly be one of unholy fire! Our debut album has been such a long time coming, but it’s finally ready to be unleashed upon the world with all the heavy blackened energy pounding from our souls! Expect fire, blood and damnation," comments co-founding member Dave Powell. "I love the mid-90s Black Metal and Master's Call have the true spirit in their blood, combined with the traditional 80s metal spirit of the British forefathers like Judas Priest, Black Sabath and Iron Maiden. I love the catchyness of their tracks, combined with brutality and a dark atmosphere that makes you wanna scream out loud. I believe this upcoming debut album of Master's Call will reach many black hearts and make them burst." adds Markus Wosgien of Fireflash Records.
After marching forth through the pandemic and various line-up changes within the band, the long-awaited debut album "A Journey For The Damned" finally reached the end of its long journey to completion. Their next chapter is about to begin and is set to burn their mark on the world! "It’s been a hell of a long journey with many obstacles to overcome, but for us it’s so good to have finally made it to the end with the summation of it all captured and sealed in time," says guitarist Dave Powell. During the album recordings, the band lost three vocalists in total, ending up having guitar player John Wilcox becoming the final singer. "So three vocalists down was feeling like a curse. We had most of the album written and even had the vocals for a couple of songs recorded with a vocalist we no longer had. In the end John volunteered to switch from guitars to vocals, which was a very drastic change for us dynamically as me and him up to that point were the two guitarists both live and in the songwriting," comments Dave and adds: "In the end whilst we finished up recording the album we had a new guitarist, Bear, join us to cover live shows at first, but has since become a fully-fledged band member." Augurium Posts New Single Online
"Phantom Parallax" is the second single off "Unearthly Will" coming from Canadian death metal act, Augurium. The second track on the album is a very rhythm-based song that calls back to the intro chord numerous times and boasts the heaviest breakdown on the album. It is straight-up metal filth that will satiate most open-minded metal fans. Lyrically, it could be considered to be meditations on the possible connection between the living and the dead, and possession. The band shares their thoughts on it:
"'Phantom Parallax' was one of the earlier songs written for the album and one of the final ones to be completed. We reworked it numerous times both musically and lyrically but ultimately decided that it needs to have some shrieking vocal lines and get downright nasty at the end. This is one of our stronger pieces and are beyond stoked to bring it to the masses."
Augurium builds on expressions of old and new references within the world of heavy metal. "Unearthly Will" will be their third album and they continue to challenge genre boundaries and concoct an original sound. It is a fresh take on what Canadian death metal has to offer. With slamming riffs in a variety of time signatures and genre-blending aspects, over a finely executed percussion and rhythm section, it will be a very surprising yet welcome evolution, with an all-new line-up, and 2 years of hard work, created with great care and intention.
Augurium has tour dates planned for the fall to support this new album and they promise a brutally good time for those who attend one of their gigs. Each of them has been playing music live since high school, so we are entering this chapter with lots of experience, and plan to deliver a polished, dark, expressive, and rewarding performance for each city they visit.

Scar Symmetry Debuts "Xenotaph" Video
Scar Symmetry has revealed the video for "Xenotaph," taken from their latest album, "The Singularity (Phase II - Xenotaph)." For "Xenotaph," Scar Symmetry enlisted the help of The Ultraterrestrial Choir - a 233 voice strong ensemble consisting of fans, friends and family from all over the world; with each choir member multitracked the resulting recording consists of literally thousands of vocal tracks!
Guitarist Per Nilsson comments "'Xenotaph' concludes Phase II in an open-ended way, leaving the listener on a bit of a cliffhanger musically as well as lyrically. We felt strongly that Xenotaph deserved its own music video, to bring closure to this second part of our Singularity saga and to showcase the song to the fullest, and to put the spotlight on our amazing, crowd-sourced choir - it is definitely not the last time we will call upon our fans to sing with us!" Skindred Releases "Unstoppable" Music Video
Following their show-stopping performances at Glastonbury , Download Festival and 2000 Trees Festivals, and their hugely acclaimed support slots on the recent KISS farewell tour, Skindred release their brand new single "Unstoppable," ahead of the impending release of their new album "Smile."
A grooving juggernaut of a song, it attests to the enduring power of a band that delivers a good time, every time. "As a band, we’ve survived the rise and fall of a million genres, trend and fads in this world," says guitarist Mikey Demus. "People have tried and failed to put us in a box we refuse to live in. Skindred has a determination and a tenacity to stay true to ourselves, and true to our fans. Skindred will not be ignored. We are Unstoppable!"
"We keep going and we keep pushing forward," says frontman Benji Webbe, a man who's no stranger to being unstoppable, having survived sepsis and having his throat slashed. "In life, it’s about hearing that our music has encouraged people and got them through dark times. But even when we’re done and gone, people will still be listening to this music. That thought makes me smile."
"Unstoppable" is another celebration of life and blast of positivity which comes hot on the heels of the band’s summer anthem "L.O.V.E (Smile Please)." That song showcases the band’s ragga-reggae-sunshine roots, alongside their bright metal power.
Both tracks are taken from the band’s forthcoming album "Smile," on which the four-piece – completed by bassist Daniel Pugsley and drummer Arya Goggin – channel a huge range of styles from reggae to metal, rock to pop, dub to electro, and on Smile have created the most mind-expanding and potent collection of songs they have delivered yet, designed to melt stereos around the world.
