U.D.O. Posts "Touchdown" Video Online

Down, set, WATCH! Between summer festival activities as well as following the first musical glimpse "Forever Free," iconic German heavy metal group U.D.O. -- singer Udo Dirkschneider and his son Sven (drums), a guitar duo consisting of Andrey Smirnov and Fabian Dee Dammers plus bass player Peter Baltes -- have returned with a sportive music video for the title track of their forthcoming studio album "Touchdown" which will hit the shelves on August 25, 2023 via Atomic Fire Records. Musically, "Touchdown" kicks off rapidly before culminating in an anthemic, fan block & stadium capable chorus, graced by a highly fitting violin solo contributed by Stefan Pintev. The aforementioned music video is in no way inferior and lets the worlds of both football and heavy metal clash brilliantly.

Sven recalls: "The song but also album title began to take root when we were sitting in a sports bar in São Paulo [Brazil] where a football game was shown. The word that came out of the speakers the most and therefore was remembered the best afterwards was simply 'Touchdown.' That's why my dad [Udo] suggested that it should become the name of our new album - and a touchdown is also what we have created musically with our new songs in my opinion. We're very happy with the result! The title track deals, of course, with nothing but the type of sport itself, and it also represents us as a band very well: We're a team that enters the stage together evening after evening to win the crowd. That's what we do highly motivated, in a way aggressively but powerful too. Qualities that can also be found in football and lastly throw a bridge to our music." More...

Tar Pond Shares "SLAVE" Music Video

Tar Pond are now unveiling the fierce video clip "SLAVE" as the next single taken from the Swiss doom visionaries' forthcoming new album "PETROL," which is scheduled for release on September 15, 2023. You can check out the video below.

In further news, Tar Pond will reissue their debut full-length "Protocol Of Constant Sadness" parallel to "PETROL" on September 15, 2023. The album will be available as an LP both on gold vinyl and on standard black vinyl, and as a Digipak CD.

Tar Pond explains: "Although the video for 'SLAVE' was produced simultaneously with the clip for 'BLIND', we approached the visuals in a quite different way", vocalist Thomas Ott elaborates. "This dark and heavy song rather evokes simple and slow images. I had some interesting shots of jellyfish floating in dark water. So we decided to shoot some additional material of the band performing in the rehearsal room, filled with a maximum of smoke. That quickly turned out to be a bad idea due to the fire alarms installed in the building. Well, with the kind help of some good old friends, Marky managed to procure a much better location in no time. Initially, the video for 'SLAVE' was planned with more varied footage, but Fabrizio Merico's sublime camera work, shot in only one night at the Zukunft Club in Zurich, and the absolute professional editing by Coroner's Daniel Stoessel made us decide to just let it all go up in smoke! Sometimes less is more!" More...

Born in late 2022, Alterium consists of Nicoletta and former bandmates Paolo Campitelli (guitars) and Dario Gozzi (drums) from Kalidia, soon joined by Alessandro Mammola (guitars, also in Draconicon) and Luca Scalabrin (bass, also in Altair).

Nicoletta says: "I am finally happy to present you Alterium, my new power metal adventure. In the past months, we have poured our hearts and souls into crafting a debut album that harmonizes captivating melodies, powerful guitar riffs, and thunderous drums. The result is a strong debut album that we are eagerly anticipating to share with all of you. We are also filled with enthusiasm to share the exciting news we joined forces with AFM Records! Our music and vision align perfectly with their understanding and belief, making this collaboration truly thrilling. We take immense pride in sharing the label's roster with an array of renowned exceptional bands."

"After the first contact with Nicoletta, we at AFM were immediately hooked. Alterium is uncompromising power metal paired with a powerful voice performed by a powerful woman!" Jochen Richert, CEO at Soulfood Music, comments. "Nicoletta, well remembered by many fans as Kalidia's front woman, is bursting with energy and this is fully expressed on their debut album. It was clear from the start that we would embark on a journey together. We are absolutely convinced of the success of Alterium, so we will bring in all our label power."

After Kalidia parted ways, Nicoletta decided to take a different approach and finally unleashes her whole potential as both a singer and a songwriter. Under the guidance of producer Lars Rettkowitz (Freedom Call), Alterium have finished the recordings of a bombastic debut album.

The band's first full-length will also feature a cover of the Sabaton classic "Bismarck." Watch out for Alterium, when they will take the power metal scene by storm with a triumph of powerful sounds, big riffs, explosive drums, majestic choirs and captivating grooves!
