The Hirsch Effekt Unveils New Album Details

German prog metal trio The Hirsch Effekt have announced their new album, the brilliant "Urian," due 29th September via Long Branch Records.

In conjunction with the news, The Hirsch Effekt have also released their new single "Agora," the second glimpse of the new album following the title track.

After charting at #21 in the German album charts with previous album "Kollaps," and formidable shows at Wacken Open Air, Full Force Festival, ArcTanGent and as recent headliners at the renowned Euroblast Festival, The Hirsch Effekt have impressively established themselves in the German progressive metal landscape.

The band comment:

"During a stay at a vacation home in 2021, we developed a number based on a short guitar riff with acoustic guitar and electric bass. It's no coincidence that you can tell that Ilja and Nils listened to 'Californication' a lot when they were young: 'Road Trippin'' was definitely in the back of their minds at the time. When Ilja's cello parts came in, however, 'Agora' drifted into another, almost Celtic atmosphere.

"In terms of content, it is a very personal, autobiographical song. 'Agora' not only reflects finally arriving in the age of crises, but also a literal and genuine, humane tightness. Triggered not least by the pandemic, which lasted throughout the entire album writing phase and influenced everything, and all the lockdowns and isolations that went with it." More...

All For Metal Posts New Music Video Online

New metal sensation, All For Metal, will release their first full-length studio album, "Legends," on July 7 via AFM Records. You can check out a music video for the song, "Hear The Drum" below.

With eleven irresistible, compact and catchy songs, the band's colossal debut unleashes anthemic, straightforward metal that has international class. Under the banner of All For Metal, metal enthusiasts Tim "Tetzel" Schmidt (known as the singer of Asenblut as well as a strength athlete and fitness influencer) and Antonio Calanna (singer of the hard rock band DeVicious) joined forces for the perfect metal match. Both are united by their love for classic heavy metal sounds and the common vision to bring them to a new generation of music fans.

"We grew up with bands like Manowar, at whose concerts the audience is overwhelmed by the energy," says singer Tetzel. "That's where strangers are in each other's arms and fervently belting out the songs. This invisible bond, this connection, is created through the music alone." His vocal counterpart Antonio adds, "I've only experienced such a sense of community in the metal scene. With All For Metal, we want to help pass this on and let as many music fans as possible share in it." More...

Augurium Releases New Single

Canada’s Augurium was formed in the summer of 2015 by like-minded individuals who have a drive and a thirst for heavy, filthy riffs and low guttural screams. Augurium quickly completed their line-up and played their first show supporting Evilheart (Mexico) and jumped into the studio to record their debut EP "Omen" along with touring throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta. Their first full-length "Unhallowed Ascendance" was unleashed in 2018 and was a stepping stone of straight-up brutal death metal for the band. Evolving over the years, along with a new lineup, their sound has transformed now into a more refined, darkened, carefully crafted monstrous offering with their sophomore album "Unearthly Will" this coming August 2023.

"Unearthly Will" was a challenging, yet rewarding one for Augurium. All of the writing and recording was done remotely by each individual member at their homes (3 members in Saskatchewan - Regina, Saskatoon and 2 members in British Columbia). Their independent technical knowledge and their constant communication with each other of the quintet made this project come to fruition naturally.

The first single off the forthcoming album is "Ancient Grimoire," a haunting and guttural monstrosity. The band explains more:

"Musically this was the first time we’ve ever introduced any form of clean singing into an Augurium song. Although it’s blended with some very evil and filthy guttural lines, it’s honestly haunting when you hear all of the vocal lines paired with the orchestral background pieces. Lyrically there is a theme of finding synchronicities between books across a wide variety of authors and time periods in an abstract fashion."

"Unearthly Will" is due out on August 25, 2023. More...

Vintersea Shares "Lonesome Tide" Music Video

Vintersea recently completed their tour supporting Moonspell, Eleine and Oceans of Slumber and captured some footage of the band performing live, as well as their travels. It can all be experienced in the Portland-based group’s latest video, "Lonesome Tide," below.

"Our recent tour with Moonspell, Eleine, and Oceans of Slumber was special, and I thought capturing as much as I could would allow us to not only showcase a song but also show off how much we love touring and meeting our fans,” tells bassist Karl Whinnery.

"'Lonesome Tide' is one of my favorite tracks on the album - it starts with all the emotions in the vocal performance and then breaks open and goes on a rollercoaster of a journey. We played it live every night of the tour, and it was a fan favorite every show! All the love from Vintersea to you.”

"We are lucky enough to have a professional videographer in the tour van with us on every tour - and even though sometimes we don't have as much time as we'd like to pull over and shoot the beautiful places we see, Karl was able to capture some of the magnificent places we visited in this video,” further explains guitarist Riley Nix.

"This was our first time visiting Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and British Columbia, and it was eye-opening and humbling to see how many of you came out to see us in cities we had never visited before. We hope this video serves as a love letter to our fans all over the world, because we are coming for you next!" More...

Carnifex To Release New Album In October

Nourished by nightmares and the throbbing pulse of pragmatic terror, Carnifex have returned with their ninth full-length studio album, "Necromanteum," out October 6th via Nuclear Blast Records. After existing as a band for over 18 years, Carnifex continue to experiment with fresh song arrangements, adding a unique sense of atmosphere to their inherently deathcore foundation.

Decades ago, wealthy intellectuals began installing psychomanteum in their homes; a secret room completely filled with mirrors, or a single mirror, in complete darkness, in order to speak to the dead in other dimensions, and gain their knowledge. It was often used as a healing tool to help dissolve grief, or considered a form of prophecy. "Necromanteum" presents the concept: what if you could use that kind of room to speak with death, itself? What secrets of the world could you uncover from a direct conversation with the grim reaper? Not a monster, but a fellow intellect.

Today, the band releases the title track "Necromanteum" which broaches on these existential topics. Watch the music video directed by Jim Louvau and Tony Aguilera. You can check out the video for the song below.

Carnifex's Scott Ian Lewis comments; "'Necromanteum' is a truly special album that all of us in the band already love. Spend some time in conversation with the other side of life, enter the Necromanteum…" More...
