We Ride Signs With Victory

Victory Records is proud to announce the worldwide signing of Spain’s hardcore crew We Ride, with "Empowering Life" coming out on April 14th. Today, the band shares a video for "Self Made," which can be seen below.

Helmed by front-woman Mimi Telmo, We Ride self-produced and released a first demo in 2009, followed by first full-length album "Directions" in 2010. With the well-received acclaim of next release, 2012’s "On The Edge," We Ride quickly gained fans around the world while igniting pits alongside H2O, Comeback Kid, Madball, Bane, and many others in over 30 countries worldwide.

“Signing with Victory Records is the reward of seven years of hard work and also a motivator to deliver the goods,” promises Telmo. “It has not been easy to be taken seriously in a man’s world. Especially in today’s political climate, it is beyond critical that women support each other. I want to be a positive figure for females involved in the hardcore punk scene. Personally, it has been difficult at times, many feeling offended there being a front-girl in hardcore. ‘Self Made’ is about breaking the stereotypes. Victory is the label that wrote the book on hardcore and it’s an incredible feeling to be a part of it. This is just the beginning and we are here to stay.” More...

In The Company Of Serpents Streaming New Song

"Ain-Soph Aur," the new studio offering from Denver doom duo In The Company Of Serpents, will see independent release on March 10th, 2017. In advance of its release, today closing track "Limitless Light" comes online and can be heard below.

"'Limitless Light' is probably the heaviest thing we've written to date," comments vocalist Grant Netzorg, "and it's my favorite track off the new record. It's a very cathartic and often painful song for me to play live. Thematically, this song deals with striving to realize the true version of one's self, the self that is who we essentially are at the core of our beings when all other baggage we acquire in life is stripped away."

He goes on to say, "It is that true and beautiful version of ourselves that we must take every effort to honor and act upon, and it is a lifelong pursuit. This song has a strong melancholy to it, because I know that in many ways I have personally failed in this endeavor, whether through personal or professional obligations, or in the simple reality of how our society operates. Nonetheless it is an immense goal worthy of constant and continued effort, regardless of any personal setbacks I have encountered on the path there, and I intend to keep chasing that ideal." More...

Kreyskull Posts "Cosmic Scavenger" Video

Kreyskull introduces us to the "Cosmic Scavenger" today with a new music video directed by the band and Tino-Viljami Vanhala. Check out the clip below, taken off "The Bird Of Bad Weather" due for release via Sliptrick Records on March 15th. The label comments:

"A beautiful, discordant slab of demented doom bliss, this is the first chance to hear material from 'The Bird Of Bad Weather,' the upcoming album by Finnish doom rockers Kreyskull …and boy, it’s a doozy. The track 'Cosmic Scavenger' is everything you could want from the band and a whole lot more.

"This song is twisted, churning, heavy and when a saxophone improbably wanders around over the finishing (no pun intended) stretch, we’ve definitely hit cosmic! The lyrics are an ode to science fiction/conspiracy theories, telling us 'if you know too much…you`ll simply disappear' and the video adds another layer of wit to the proceeding without taking anything away from the sheer power and coolness of the tune. This is the real deal, check it out below." More...

Dragonforce Reveals New Album Details

The international metal superstars from DragonForce have revealed details for their forthcoming studio album. "Reaching Into Infinity" will be released in the USA via Metal Blade Records on May 19th, 2017.

Recording the bulk of the album at Fascination Street Studios, Sweden, with producer Jens Bogren, the band also laid down tracks while touring for the "Killer Elite" compilation release, utilizing Lamerluser Studios, (London, UK), Dark Lane Studios (Witney, UK), as well as the band's own Evil1 Studios in Charleville-Mezieres, France and Shredforce One Studios (CA, USA).

"We were flying out, playing a festival, then back into the studio, then back out again," explains bass player Frederic Leclercq, who also handled the majority of songwriting on this album. "It was very intense and very tiring. I obviously played bass but also a lot of rhythm guitar, electric and acoustic, and lost my temper a few times - I think we all did at some point, because we wanted to deliver nothing but the best."

"I think we have proven that playing fast was something we were good at, so this time I wanted to bring even more diversity into our music," Fred continues. "It's great to challenge ourselves instead of staying in a comfort zone, and I really wanted to experiment with Marc's vocals. I think people are going to be surprised at his brutality!" More...

Newly signed to Italian label Argonauta Records, this March 17th will see the release of Forming The Void's third album "Relic."

The label comments: "Like 'Skyward' before it, it draws on one hell of a colossal sound. New song ‘Bialozar’ is the first track lifted from said album and, as you will hear, it’s carried along on lead singer James Marshall’s soaring, practically airborne vocal about an epic voyage of a celestial beast: 'Valiant mantra in mind, Radiant alive in light' / 'Wings spread over the mountain, Bialozar.'"

"We really found our stride with Relic,” explains Marshall. “I think with this album it was important to showcase as much of our diversity of influences as we could while still staying under a fuzzy, progressive, atmospheric sound." More...

Six Feet Under Posts New Song

On February 24th, Six Feet Under returns with 12th studio album, "Torment," and a new leap in intensity. Check out newly unearthed song "The Separation of Flesh from Bone" in the player below.

"Torment" was brought to life by Chris Barnes with bassist/guitarist Jeff Hughell (Brain Drill) shouldering the load of writing the music, along with heralded drummer Marco Pitruzzella (Brain Drill, Anomalous, Sleep Terror).

Chris Barnes elaborates: "I've been lucky to have a lot of standout albums in my career. That's only because I've had a great many talented writing partners and musicians to collaborate with. Our new album, 'Torment,' to me, is one of those albums.

"Jeff Hughell has provided the flammable material for me to write some explosive lyrics and vocal parts to. I know people always say, this is my best album ever, and I won't say that, because everyone has their own favorites, but I do enjoy creating new music, and I feel as though with this one we expressed concisely and to the fullest the duality of our music." Evocation Launches Behind The Scenes Video

On March 10th, Evocation will celebrate a return to death metal with stunning new album, "The Shadow Archetype." For a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album, Evocation has now released a video with excerpts from the studio and in-depth explanations from guitarist Marko Palmen.

Featuring a cover and layout by Xaay, "The Shadow Archetype" was recorded at three different studios. Backing vocals, mixing and mastering were done at Dugout Productions. Daniel Bergstrand handled the recording of backing vocals and mixing while George Nerantzis handled the mastering. Drums were recorded at Crehate Studios together with studio engineer Oscar Nilsson. "The Shadow Archetype" also features veteran drummer Per Moller Jensen (ex-The Haunted, ex-Invocator) on session drums.

Guitars, bass, and lead vocals were recorded by the band in Evocatin's own studio, Acacia Avenue Recordings. "We started recording the drums in late June 2015 and did the last recordings with vocals in June 2016. So, we spent roughly a year in the studio with 'The Shadow Archetype'," explains Palmen. "In my opinion, the production is our strongest so far. It has all the elements I want in a production; raw brutality with a distinctive punch!"
