Motley Crue To Record New Album?

Nikki Sixx just made the following post on the Motley Crue messageboard:

The final depo in the vans law suit is monday. I'm excited to take them to court. They have offered settlements but they have all been a slap in the face. I can't wait to take them to court and set straight that companies cannot and will not be allowed to use celebrities images without permission.

On other new...Vince smoked the 4 new tunes...He sang the best ive heard in in years.

Names of songs...

Black Roses
Another Bad Day
Entertain Us
Get Out

Of course, these are demos and we're looking at recording them in the very near future. They're very Motley-sounding, I'd say "Feelgood" meets "Shout." I think you're gonna freak out when you hear these. It's true rock n roll. Nothing more, nothing less.

Dream Evil Guitarist Leaves

Prior to hitting the road with Saxon, Dream Evil have to announce some bad and some good news: Lead-Guitarist Gus G. is leaving the band to focus some more on his own band Firewind.

Gus G. gave us a short statement:

Hello my friends! Hope this message finds u well. I would like to announce to you, that I've decided to leave Dream Evil for different reasons, mainly personal. I would also like to concentrate on my own band, Firewind. However, this doesn't mean that I'm not friends with the guys in the band. I split with them under very friendly circumstances. I wish them the best in the future. As for me, you can count on hearing my new releases coming up later this year. I'm sorry if I dissapoint some of you, but...the show must go on! Stay Metal!

The rest of the guys in Dream Evil are sad about the split, but are happy as well to have found a brillant new lead-guitar player. Here is thje band’s statement about the line-up change:

There are no hard feelings; we are still best friends and we wish Gus nothing but the best in his future musical carrier. Second! The good news: Dream Evil is happy to announce that guitar virtuoso and axe-swinger Mark U Black is our new lead guitarist. This guy rips and shreds like a maniac in a true 80's guitar hero style We feel that with Mark’s skills and his ability to give Dream Evil his full time attention, this change will bring Dream Evil to the next level. We have already played some festival shows with him in Europe, and he delivered! We are very much looking forward to joining Saxon on the road in September/ October as we continue to spread the word about our latest album "The Book Of Heavy Metal." All right in the night!

Next to the Saxon tour, Dream Evil are going to play a very special show in London this year. Together with their Italian label-mates Labyrinth they will set the “Underworld’s” stage on fire on November 13th, 2004. For those who can’t be there, check the latest Dream Evil video clip "The Book Of Heavy Metal" on www.centurymedia.de.

This will be the quintet’s third U.S. tour in support of their highly acclaimed new album, Hate Crew Deathroll. This trek, their last until the release of their next album, will also see the band performing a stunning 45-minute set for the very first time in the U.S. The track “Needled 24/7” will also be featured on the new MTV2 Headbangers Ball CD Vol. 2 released this week.

Henkka T. Blacksmith (bass) further describes the band’s excitement over the upcoming tour; “So Children of Bodom will return to the U.S. very soon. We have done a lot of shows over there lately, but we decided to do this tour because it’s a very interesting package. We are looking forward to play with all three bands, and it's going to be an extremely heavy tour. It is very cool for us that we can be part of this package, and we hope to see all the COB fans there too. I am really looking forward to it.”

Also, Alexi Laiho (vocals, guitars) is featured on Guitar World’s inaugural CD-ROM insert in November’s issue, currently on newsstands. Fans will be able to watch him run through various tracks step by step and see his technique in vivid detail.

Exodus Singer Fired

San Francisco Bay Area thrashers Exodus have confirmed the departure of singer Steve "Zetro" Souza from the group's ranks. "Zetro is out of the band for sure!" Asked about the reports that Zetro left the band of his own accord, Exodus manager Steve Warner replied, "He did not quit, he was fired!"

Guitarist Gary Holt has slammed singer Steve "Zetro" Souza over the circumstances that led to his departure from the group, calling the singer "human crap" and vowing to carry on with a replacement vocalist.

In a posting to the band's official forum, Holt writes:

Okay people, the word has leaked, so I'm here to give you a brief rundown. Let me give you an idea of what we've had to deal with as far as that fat motherfuckin' shit brick is concerned. He pulled out of going to Mexico City only about twenty-four hours before were ready to leave, saying, "I'm not getting on the plane, you'll see me on Thursday to go to South America." He lied to our manager, saying that he had talked to me already about this, which was a total lie. He then ducked every fuckin' phone call and just hid out. The promoter had already paid a non-refundable 8 thousand dollars for the room and it would have been a disaster to have cancelled. None of this mattered to that miserable piece of shit. The only thing he cares about is himself and money.

Jimmy Bain Talks About Leaving Dio For Scorpions

Ex-DIO bassist JIMMY BAIN explained to The Dio Message Board why he left the group earlier this year, "Because my heart wasn't into it, when your heart isn't in it you can't really do it anymore. I want to do something where maybe I can get rich - as oppose to other people getting rich and I didn't. That is unfortunate but such is life. When you join a band you think that everything is going to be great and it doesn?t end up like that so you have to leave after such a long time..years and years."

Asked what he'd miss most about Dio he answers concisely, "Nothing."

He also admits it was he who played bass on the SCORPIONS greatest commercial success, "I did play on [the album] Love at First Sting , that is the only Scorpions album I have played on. They paid me really a lot of money so I really didn?t care that I did not get credit. They know I played on it and I know I played on it, I can hear myself playing on it. They might say that it is Francis but it's not."

Bain also talks about his current projects, including WWIII and more on his thoughts on Dio, Rainbow and Ritchie Blackmore. You can read the entire interview by registering here: www.diomessageboard.com and then visiting the "Don't Talk To Strangers" section.

John 5 Says Departure From Manson 'Amicable'

In an interview with Electricbasement.com, guitarist JOHN5 (David Lee Roth, Two) dismissed the idea that his departure from MARYLIN MANSON was frought with friction, "What actually happened was, at the end of the tour, we were just on different roads. It was completely amicable. He just wanted to write with other members of the band, and I wanted to do other things."

Asked if Manson's public comments to the contrary were for publicity John 5 responds, "I don't know, but everything's fine."

John 5 also sheds light on the difference between working with ROB HALFORD (in Two), DAVID LEE ROTH (DLR Band) and Manson, "Rob was a true, true professional. He was so good at his craft. He was such a pleasure. Working with him was fantastic because he's such a great guy. I don't think I ever saw him mad.

"David Lee Roth is the true rock star. He was running the show: 'This is how we're going to do it, boys,' like the old Van Halen. I had a blast with David Lee Roth. As for Manson, everyone always asks me if Manson is real. He definitely is real and a true artist.

"[Manson's] a great songwriter, producer, a great individual. That's why I stayed with Manson. He was so real. He was not a joke. But all three are very different individuals."
